XP to 2000

What kind of an increase could I expect from switching to Windows 2000 from Windows XP on an AMD system? I always hear people say 2K will perform better than XP on an AMD system, so I am just wondering what kind of increase people have seen by just switching the OS.

I get better scores with xp... only reason i would use 2k, is that im able to boot into it with higher fsb, but thats because i use promise raid, which gets corrupted at 196 MHz fsb in xp and can stand 201 MHz fsb under win 2k. Though i would say performance is worse in win 2k.

On an AMD rig you'll see 200pts + increase :)

Thanks for the info. That sounds worth it. I should install up to SP3 for best 3DMark performance, right?

Not sure....I use SP2. Doesn't seem as if there is much a diff. between the 2 :)
