Im having some trouble getting my windows 2000 install in vmware to detect a disk to install onto I had it installed and running then I reinstalled it and it hasnt worked since.:( Im using vm ware workstation 5. If anyone could give me some ideas as to a solution I would be grateful.

Edit: Ive solved the problem after 5 hours of searching on the net. It seems that my vmware was defaulting to a scsi drive when i set up a new machine instead of a ide. The workaround to this is to choose free bsd from the other menu.

Haven't tryed that yet. What buggs me is it worked fine the first time. It seems Ive destoyed the windows installer in the boot so im going to go back and do a full size install just to see if i can get it working for a start.

For windows, you HAVE to install vmware tools. If you have autorun disabled, click install vmware tools under vm, go to my computer, and go to D:. For linux for some reason you dont have to.

Try using NAT instead of Bridged. Slightly slower, but never fails me.
