Well my rig is in my sig.....

Got a 2000+ unlocked and am running at 150x12, and bumped up the cvoltage to 1.825 from default 1.750.

I have all of the latest drivers for everything....Hyperion 4in1's, Omega drivers for vid card(Tried 3.0a's...horrible stability), etc....

Got 512MB of Kingston PC2700 RAM. Have it clocked down to PC2100 to be synchronous with my CPU. I have tried running the CPU at 166fsb and putting the RAM at stock PC2700...but get lower scores on 3DMark for some odd reason....

Got a fresh WinXP SP1 install.

When I run at 150x12@1825 I score right around 12,200 to 12,500.

When I run at 166x10.5 I score right around 11,200.

I was expecting big gains with this 9700pro...am I doing something wrong or overlooking something??

Seems like everyone else is 13k or better. And I can only manage 12,500 at best when I turn everything off in the background, etc....????

Also, I haven't been able to get the Hyperion AGP driver to work correctly with my 9700pro. I install it and nothing but lockups, crashes, etc.....I uninstall it and voila....problem fixed. Have a feeling though that if I got it installed and working correctly I would see a performance boost.....or maybe I just need to lay off the crack sandwiches again.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....:help:

No, not doing any OC'ing on the vid card at the moment......

Just thought the scores should be a bit higher than what I am running right now.....

Also, for OC'ing I wanted to know if there are any other tweak utilities besides Rage3D out there? When I downloaded the Omega drivers it specifically said to not incorporate Rage3D tweak into or it would mess things up and cause system instability.

So any recommendations would be great...

what Vid card did you have before the Radeon?

had a Visiontek GeForce 4 Ti4200se.......and I know people say...did you uninstall your old drivers.....

I repartioned, reformatted, and then installed WindowsXP home.....then installed the ATI stuff...so I know there are no remnants of nVidia there...

ok just checking, theres a specific way to install ATI drivers from what I read. First while still using the VGA adapter installed by the OS install DX9 then install the catalyst drivers then install the control panel. Thats what I read on some forum for ATI vid cards.

I read the following in another thread from this guy MrIcee:

[QUOTE]"You need to install in this order and see what happens:

XP+ SP1, DX, VIA 4 in 1's, then your drivers.

For 2000...install 2000, SP3, DX , 4 in 1's and your vid card drivers.

If you upgrade 4 in 1's...remove your vid card drivers FIRST...then UNINSTALL the previous 4 in 1's....go into the registry and system and physically remove any remnants of them leftover. THEN install the new 4 in 1's...and NEXT re-install your vidcard drivers.

Also..when setting up your bios the first time..set optomized defaults first and reboot...then go back into the bios and set all the parameters to your liking. Fixed alot of heartaches for me" [\QUOTE]

Can this be confirmed?? It's not that I am doubt him, it's just I have like reformatted like 5 times in the past week trying different stuff.....get it all set up....notice some problems and the solution always is to reformat, hehe. And I get so friggin tired of the Microsoft dorks over the phone to activate windows, grrr. :hehe:

He gives examples of going into the registry to remove the old drivers....I tried that once and can never get the .sys files to delete... and I didn't seem to be too successful at that...so reformatting is my one tool in my toolbox *sigh*

I appreciate the help on trying to solve this brainteaser....

There is a file in the system folder that contains the activation code thingy and all you have to do is copy it to a disk then reformat and install then copy the file back. Problem is I cant remember the file. I'll try to find the link for it hold on.

Good Question Charlie.....

I have never heard that issue brought up before.

Anyone know the answer to the million dollar question?

I am still waiting on confirmation if the way MrIcee explained to install everything works....or is it personal opinion?
