I put an 80 watt TEC on an mmx233 and im cooling the TEC with some pretty good aircooling (since it is only 80 watts) and i read up on calculating temps of the cold side of the TEC, but it is all way beyond me
The mmx233 produces 23 watts i think, what would the approx cold side temp of the TEC be?
thanks!

Insulate that card:)

This should work pretty good, should go quite a few *c below ambient... insulation recomended.

Its important to use a good heatsink with a big fan on it for the best temps, your going to be cooling a 120watt heat load (approx)

Alright guys, i managed to get the peltier setup working :D
My aim was originally to get top spot on the orb for a pentium 1, but now i just want to max this system out

The mmx233 goes to 300 (2.5x120) and highest bootable fsb is when im running at 270 (2x135) but memtest isnt stable

The original setup

80w TEC on the cpu and a 30w TEC on the NB

285mb/sec OMG sdram does wonders for socket 7
(not stable)

Thanks for the advice guys!

I think memory and chipset will be the limitng factors.

Can you do a chipset Vmod (or boost 3.3v line) ?

i should find a second Aopen AP5T-3.1 and have some races with you lol :D

be limited to PCI vid cards though.. :/

Yeah its very fun to try and max out a board that isnt expensive :D
One problem i have though, the peltier on the NB is just sitting loosly on top of the NB, which doesnt have any mounting holes at all... what woud you guys suggest i use to mount the NB TEC and hsf onto it?
oh yeah.. the chipset voltage was raised form 3.3v to 3.58v but i can raise it further with a voltmod.. what would the max voltage be that i should do?
mainly because i dont want to lose my stick of sdram that does more than 155 @ 2-2-2 :p:
