I got all excited about the results with the 955xe so I looked into going Intel but it appears that all the Intel SLI mb's stink? are they any options with SLI and Intel ?

I was going have to sink some money into the change but I really can't see buying Crossfire cards too.

Just Crossfire, last I heard. Not that Intel CPUs are good for gaming anyways

I read that in a thread but its not mentioned on Asus web site so I'm not sure.

Is this chipset going to be out in January?

If I could get an X2 or DC opteron at say 3.4ghz I'd stay put with AMD !! :D

with modded drivers you will be able to run SLI on 975x - as much as I know Fuggers has one of those - as well as another person on the forum here

Well I guess I've set things in motion with AMD and have to stick to it, the cost of changing over to Intel right now with my current hardware is too much. I hate that I'm going to miss out on the 955ex cause it seems to be a hot ticket and a sign of things to come from Intel. I guess my best bet is to hold off for FX60 and go from there. Socket M2 will be a different story though since I'll have to basicly start from scratch anyway and I can make the change to Intel then if it is justified.

Get your facts straight boy :fact: I've used both in the past year and notice no real diffrerence in gaming. Howver, intel @ 6 GHz would pwn just about anything....

Agreed! Let dont forget a Dothan pwnz almost anything in gaming single-core wise

I don't think that theres any argument that its not just about components but also about how they are paired (just look at the title of this thread). Dothan may be a real screamer at gaming but the lack of enthusiast boards with PCI-e and good overclocking features leaves it out in left field. Right now the real key to good FPS is SLI and to have a good solution with SLI right now the only viable "choice" is NF4 -> AMD. Please don't jump on this as a fight...mearly trying to say that SLI/AMD is the winning combo right now.
