ok well i got my cellie D 2.1ghz in .. system boots up fine it sees the Cellie d properly

but in the bios

1)
it lists only VID control as 1 thru 62 .. huh ? what ?
2)
there is no FSB options
3)
no agp options as in freq
4)
basically nothing i can do via the bios to change anything important other than dram cas timings. and dram freq (which is max 333 since the cpu is only a 533mhz bus)

right now using clockgen i can go to 3.2ghz without blinking but any higher and the aGP bus goes kaboom up to 100mhz and the system freezes.

oddly enough i did this and rebooted and the cpu was still at 3.2ghz ? yup you heard me it was stuck at 3.2ghz even after rebooting without running clockgen again

i thought this baord had all the options accept a chipset voltages ?

according to this thread it does
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=900405
(sorry for the link to the H its the only link there)

lastly it has a bios dataed 09/05/2005 bios rev 1018.001 this bios isnt even on the asus ftp
obviously this is a beta bt a beta so bad that all the oc options are gone ?

do i dare go back to the 1017 bios i fear if i do that i may lose Pent D support or worse,, voltages me go back to a high setting and hurt the chip

or do i not need to worry the pent D is ok even if not officially supported?

any help is appreciated i didnt want to get asus as ive had nothing but crap from them in the area of mobo's but i really figured this would be the little brother of the P4P800 series board which was , correct me if im wrong, a very superior 478 board ....

any help is greatly appreaciated fellas.

ok well i guess asus found it necessarry to make a mini P4P800 board and strip the bios.

im about ready to sit down and compare the best i can the ATX and mATX versions of these boards and flash it with the ATX one with clocking options.

my overclocking in this baord is limited to clockgen only and max vdimm of 2.65v and ZERO vcore control even though it has a VID setting in the bios it doesnt change anything..

man anyone know if this board is identicle to its P4P800 ATX big brother, and which verion of it ?

i'd love to play around and do the vdimm and vcore/vdroop mod but cant find much info... other than the 50kohm resistor stuff .. found maybe the vdimm which i dearly need but also need vcore more.

a 1ghz overclock with zero change in vcore right now aint too shabby if i do say so myself.. but the chip has proven it can do 3.7 with only a small bump to like 1.45v

anywho...

well, the answer's simple, ASUS just doesn't wanna bother writing BIOS with complicated OC options to this board

as it is 1. hard to find in the market and 2. not so "extreme" board (mATX) for OCers
