Which liquid?

Hey all..
My chiller is ready.I'll try n post some pics..Its a 1tonne compressor with R22 and 1tonne Evap.its an a/c unit..
Now I've got to do Insulation..which is so damn tough..coz I can't find Neoprene..
I'm using coolant+water right now..and the temp is down to 2-3C..(I had the block directly on the pc without insulation,temp showed 2-3c..switched it off..got lucky nothing happened and CPU is alive)
Which Liquid should I use? Can I add Acetone?
I'm trying to find Ethanol, is it also known as Thinner? (Used in paints..?)

Holly sh#t, 1ton is a 12,000btu compressor:eek: Thats like a 3hp, wow.

you can use ethanol, thats fine. Dentured alcohol is fine also, thats what most use here. Can be found at most hardware stores here in the states.

hehe yeah its a 1ton compressor :) its frosting the coil nicely now :) I got it done thru the a/c guy coz I have no knowledge :P Trying to find my handycam to take video..and then upload it to comp and take screenshots..Its basically a split a/c with the evap coming inside the room and the unit outside..
I'm in Mumbai,India so thats why having difficulties..
Neoprene also I cant find! Its so frustrating :s
Can I use Acetone for the Liquid?

I would use something non toxic.... like Propylene Glycol or nontoxic Ethylene Glycol. (Must be diluted)

Dilute with denatured alcohol

I'm really frustrated, havn't been well at all..
Can you tell me where I could buy insulation? Is there any website? and also the liquid? I'll post pics on jan 6th then i'll get my digicam :)

12000btu is roughly a 1 hp compressor

so would a 40% anti freeze , 60% water mix work ok for -30 temps?

Thats about it :)

I myself used: 12.5 liters anti-freeze (for cars :P), and 15-15.5 liters water, ice shows at -27 / -28 deg C

I've heard that Prestone De-icer washer fluid works pretty well, along with a mix of something like Zerex or Hyrdx. I'm close to finishing my chiller right now, just waiting on tubing actually, and I will probably try that de-icer 80%, hydrx 10%, and water wetter 10%.
