Which mobo for Dothan (for PI Bench and others not 3D :D ) ??
I know that ASUS P4C800 Deluxe is da best ... but it's hard to buy it, and it's a little too expensive only for pi BENCH (gpl-x IN DA HOUSE) ...

I think that i865 be best chipset ?
I can buy:
Asus P4P800-X
Asus P4P800 SE/GD
Asus P4P800-VM
Asus P4P800-E (most expensive)

What's Yours ADVISE ?

P4p800se

Why this one ??

Because it's one of the best Asus boards -> it allows to entirly control of CPU voltage up to 1,6, if i remeber, mem to 2,85V. After some droop mods, the voltage ist really stable, difference beetween stress and idle is proximately 0,025V ;) and the most important fact -> it's on i865PE

by the way -> it's tested by other users with Dothan
P4P800SE
- Vcore -> 1.6
- DDR voltage upto 2.85
- AGP -> 1.8v
- OCZ Booster works, 3.6vdimm
- If booted at 200+ FSB ratios 266, 333, 400, 500 become available
- Vcore and multipliers available in beta bios 1009.003

Polish mode on -> Yoto ta płyta napewno spełni twoje wymagania, szczególnie do PI, oby twój procek lepiej na niej poszedł, a i płyta jest wydajniejsza od i915P ;)
Polish mode off

You need to do the vdimm mod to get good numbers with the p4c800e dlx as the ddr booster dont work with it, get a mb that the booster works with.

If I know him, he will do some mods ;) the choice is simple for me -> P4P800SE + mods or P4C800 deluxe + mods :p: :slobber:

wierd. I use a DDR Booster on my P4C800 deluxe with a -e bios, i've seen them work on P4C800-e's, on OCZ's compatibilty page it also says it is compatible.

I have a P4P800-SE. I would get the P4C800-E Deluxe because the chipset can handle a much higher fsb with full PAT. Full PAT is about 1 sec. faster in Superpi 1m. Just boot at 199mhz FSB to get the locks AND full PAT. If you do this with the P4P800-SE you will not get much further than 215-220mhz.

It says p4c800e but not deluxe p4c800 deluxe but no e.I have two boosters and both dont work with the p4c800e deluxe.

my p4c800-e dlx will only do that, whereas my first one went to about 250..

so they're not guaranteed to go higher..

I don't think Asus made a P4C800-E non-deluxe.

BTW In my opinion, Abit IC7-G is better one :slobber: on my specimen PAT was working up to 268 FSB  :slobber:  it was crazy one, but it I burnt it up :slapass:

Is the 875P Chipset much better than 865PE Chipset ??

P4C800-E Deluxe (new not avaliable) will be better than Asus P4P800-E Intel 865PE Deluxe ?
If it's no big difference I'll buy P4p800se :) but higher fsb with full PAT is wanted :D

lil off topic: I'm running a DDR Booster in My P4C800-E Deluxe, this board is fine and does over 300fsb... (It is a little special tho ;))

I have a both P4C800/P4C800-E Deluxe and a OCZ Booster too and it works and i can get up to 4V although the OCZ site says it goes up till 3,6V.

Did someone Vdimm directly from line 3,3 mod on the P4C800 Deluxe ??
I need 3,60-3,70V Vdimm - which mod will be better with pot or directly 3,3 line ??
Without pot (line 3,3 to Vdimm) it is easy to control Vdimm voltage :) (beacouse of monitoring line 3,3)

It still buffles me that on the same p4p800se w/ p4 northwood, I have no problem booting up to 275fsb and yet with dothan, my fsb tops out at around 238 - 240 range. (cold boot that is)

If money is not an issue, i would pick p4c800e-dlx just b/c it has full PAT support and its northbridge seems to be a bit better than p4p800se.

My friend's p4c800e-dlx w/ p4 northwood had no problem booting up at 285fsb and he told me tonight after modding his ct-479, he can now bootup all the way up to 246fsb with his dothan m750

also, memory timing is essential to super pi scores, i did a test with my p4p800se, running at 200fsb w/ full pat support, ram at 1:1 2-2-2-5, i got 27.7s score on super pi 1m. yet with same setup but relax mem timing to 2.5-4-4-6, i got a whooping 30.2s...

if you mod your board the max vdimm will be 3.15v, the only way to get 3.6-3.7 is by overvolting the the 3.3 rail like crazy and thats 1. hard (gotta mod the psu) and 2.may be quite dangerous (for the psu, the mobo, the cpu, everything)
or you can get an ocz booster and mod it (needs a vdroop mod)

It's not big dangerous to overvolt line 3,3 up to 3,6-3,7V
I did PSU mod long time ago (NF3 times) - and mine TP550 works fine up to 3,8V.
I ask did someone this mod on P4C800 and if this work ..
I know that it works ... so I did today
