Currently my compressor has MO in it. Once the unit is put togather I'll be useing R290 for testing. I have access to R507A & R408A which uses POE. So I was thinking it would be better to drain the compressor now and change over to POE before it's assembled. From what I have read I just turn it upside down and let it drain overnite and then replace with the same amount that drained from it
Wanted to double check to make sure thats all I need to do.
This is the POE I was going to buy.

Another question how do you wire your pumps into the chillers? do you plug them in seprately or use terminal blocks and run everything off one power source.

Turn upside down, drain. To be more thorough, heat the compressor with your torch a little to get more out.

I used terminal blocks on my chiller, see here:

Do not replace the oil before you are ready to close the unit up as it will absorb moisture from the atmosphere.

What I did and that was suggested by others also is drain the oil, then add a little poe and run the unit for a few minutes, then open it up and repeat the process again. Then remove oil again and fill up with poe

Once the new oil is in close it up and pull a vacuum

Thank's johann That sounds like the best way to do it.
