Here's a quote from Ohad over at the DIMES forums...

We are performing a maintenance job on our server , which means your agents will suffer from communication problems with our server today.

The server will get back to work by the end of the day (Europe time).

Thanks for the heads up Jeff. How are you enjoying the project, I find it nice to use on old boxes that would otherwise not do much. Also its good to make use of the mega powered ones with loading up a few VMs.

I've been a DIMER for a while... but never really messed around with VMs. It's a decent project that doesn't really use much in the way of resources. I'm just hopeful that I don't get a "TOS" related email soon. ;)

Thats good to know, just gotten ~ 4 extra agents up, and production's been poor. This woud explain why :D

Are you back up to full production yet highland3r as you were quite a threat....?

Never really a threat tbh... Hoping with the extra clients added, I can put out ~ 50k a day.. Need to sort another machine sometime, think this net connection is about maxed tho :(

Yes but I was down to about 5k for quite a while each day.

Taking you've got some more agents up and running?productions up a little, but no where near what you used to have...

Picked up quite well in the end, surprised to finish the day on 37k tbh..
Running at a little over 2k an hour av atm, so should be running 50k+ av, which will be great.
Teams missing haltech though, Jeffs extra numbers are keeping us within sight of Crunchers inc though which is great news :D

When haltech comes back we'll be flying. Hopefully I'll get the zipslack install working soon. If anyone wants to read about it, heres the website:

don't throw in the towel. we at XS DIMES know you can do it. Just take your time, and do normal things over Xmas. Forget about it for a few days. Altogether. Come back to it afterwards with a "Fresh head"
That's what I'm doing with the stubborn box I'm setting up (1GB DDR, XP2400), that is giving me headaches on the hardware front.

My main rig doesn't seem to like 4 memory sticks in it. I've been fighting it for the past couple nights and thought it was something to do with the VMs or DSL or something... and it turned out to be the memory.

Now I just put those sticks into my "cheap" Biostar TForce motherboard and it seems to be running fine. Too bad I only have a 6Gb drive in that rig though... Looks like it's time for the hard drive shuffle this weekend. ;)

Blah, had a net outage last night... Since then production's been up the spout :( Any ideas why? All the dimes clients have been closed and re-opened again, but for some reason only recoding production from my main machine, not the dimes box...
Could it just be the dimes machine needs a reboot perhaps?
