Well........I had started......I left it.....I restarted......I left it......and so on for about a year or so now.......:D

I deside that it was time for me to finish it somehow......:D

Testing is with captubes on both 1st and 2nd stages......For NOW, the first stage is with a Danfoss compressor SC12CL and second stage with a .........Prommie......:D

1st stage is idle at -53*C and with 2nd stage on, it's at.....the same, -51 - -53*C......NOT bad for start! - I think - ......Refrigerant is with R410 gas in BOTH stages - for start - .....2nd stage will be filled in with R1150 gas.......:)

How's this temperature with the R410 gas in BOTH stages?......

http://www.thelab.gr/images/Hipro5/Zeus/MEGA_Zeus/jpg/-77C_2xR410_jpg.jpg

Although this was the max I archived.....Temp is between - 72*C and - 75*C......Temp sensor is on Prommie's evaporator - the face that touches the CPU - .....

One word hipro --> Sweeeeet.

You should see some interesting clocks once you get that puppy on a cpu.

There's lack of informations. What are pressures, where are overall photos etc.?

He, he, he..........That was yesterday evening.......I just couldn't resist the temptation and finally today I filled the second stage with R1150.........

That's the low 2nd stage pressure.......About -0.35 bar , ~ -10psi....

http://www.thelab.gr/images/Hipro5/Zeus/MEGA_Zeus/jpg/-106_low_presure_jpg.jpg

1st stage's low pressure is about 0.5 bar but as soon as I get a Danfoss SC21CL, I think that I'll be OK.......;)

That's almost a full system photo......

http://www.thelab.gr/images/Hipro5/Zeus/MEGA_Zeus/jpg/-106_full_system_jpg.jpg

That's the output of the R1150 through the condenser......I need to insulate it......Later on......:)

http://www.thelab.gr/images/Hipro5/Zeus/MEGA_Zeus/jpg/-106_filter_jpg.jpg

I'll come with updates as soon as I can.......;)

I want also to say that I used Prommie's condenser as a desuperheater.........The BEST thing doing an EXCELANT job........ :)

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the 1st's stage condenser works with a 20 x 20 x 7cm PAPST 230Volts fan with an output of 550cfm........ :D

The 770 which does 3270MHz on a prommie, will be tonight or tommorow.....The upcoming 780 ES, as soon as it reaches Hellas....:D

Thats good to hear. Also, would R402a do any better on the first stage? I read somewhere that that was the best single stage gas.

Nice hipro :) Looking foward to see FX57 @ 4ghz or FX60 at a bit less :P

R410 is the best if you have a massive fan and condenser, a 200x200mm condenser with 550CFM going through it qualifies for that.

R402 is easier to condense.

[XC] moddolicous
12-20-2005, 02:33 PM
So what would be the ideal 1st stage gas? R410? I see that everyone uses R1150 for the second stage.

craig588
12-20-2005, 02:44 PM
R402 is much more manageable. You need a very well tuned system to use R410 well.

Agreed, I would go with 402A over Puron anyday.

I'm with that crappy DOTHAN 770 and I have -105*C Idle and -101.5*C full load at 1.6VCore and 3380MHz.......

Cascade holds VERY WELL.......23 HOURS FULLY on with only 1.5hours break.....and with out any condensation at all.......ALSO NO ICE on the compressors at idle or at full load:)

I wonder!....Do I need all these stuff people use?......I mean......Do I need oil seperators, valves, etc.?......I don't think that they are nesessary at all.....Maybe those constractions are "old fasioned".....Just capilary tubes and you're ready........I also think that I can get -115 to -120*C out of it easy when I get the new compressors.......:)

Some more photos tommorow....;)

Wow, those temps sound good. Its pure R1150 on the sevond stage, right? BTW, that cascade was running 23hours with a dothan @ 3.3ghz? I hope it was crunching d2ol to make sure its stable. Cant wait for the 780es action.

nice work there hipro .. :)
and good results even with the same gas

do you use in both stages a capillary injection? just wondered what would be better

Exellent work Hipro! :)

Great temperatures.

If you're not using an oil separator on the second stage you may be fine for now but the life of the second stage compressor may be shortened as oil lies in the suction line and evaporator and doesnt return to the compressor. Maybe, just my opinion -but it would be a great shame to loose an SC21...

What about noise? Can u sleep whith these compressors shooting or this stuff is also a mouse-killer?

12-21-2005, 06:44 PM
Valves suck AFAIK. All the good cascades I've seen have used cap line. Then again berkut and raven have done some very impressive single stages with cpevs... You'll probably need an oil sep to prevent clogging at those temps.

Nice work hipro  Why not just use ln2 like you planned on? :p:

i love your method hipro, you approach things very similar to the way i do.

i love how you only create things out of neccesity. you sort of just throw together this beast with what seems like whatever you have around your garage, and bam, -100c.

you are like my roll model.
