Coz nobody understands what you are asking for bro. White box? With wires?

sorry if I didn't explain well enough. I mean this box

If you're talking about the box on the right, that's just a connector block. wires go in, and wires go out, but nothing much happens in between, it's just there to connect wires.

If you're talking about the box under it, with the coil inside, that's a relay, it switches power from the signal to the component it's switching on. Can't remember if that's the one that switches the compressor or not on that setup.

Why do you need to know? Is there a problem you're troubleshooting?

Its the one that I circled in the above attachment. The one with wires coming out of the top and bottom of it. I need to know which wires go where because I had a wire come out and I don't know where it goes.

that was Gray was talking about.:)

Yeah, that's not uncommon in the Mach1's.

You're gonna have to play 'Track&Trace' on it, but if you supply the color and location perhaps we can help out with where it goes.

The yellow wires up top are mostly the 12v supply's to the fans and the heater, brown are earths, etc, but if you can follow it to the plug it goes to that would help, and once you know what it's for, it's also quite easy to use your multimeter to figure out what supplu is doing what, and ensure it's the right one.

Otherwise, if you power it up as normal, and check as to whether the fans are both running, or if the evap heater is working and all that good stuff, it may give you a better clue as well.

It is the yellow wire that goes into the top of that box and it appears to trace back to the front LED box. I have no multi meter. I figured if yall showed me which one it goes into that i could maybe put it back if even possible:confused:

Haveyou tried it with the unit turned on to see what's not working? It shouldn't do any damage just to try.

Yellow will be a 12v supply I would imagine, and if it's to the display it can be fo the display itself, and possibly part of the relay system to switch the compressor. Unfortunately I don't have a wire map, but I do happen to have a mach1 here, so if you can let me know what pin location it is, I can have a look and try to help.

The pin location of where the yellow wire leads to? Im not sure the numbering of it. But it goes to the 3rd hole to the left, which also splits back over to 9th hole from the left. Not sure if that helps any

i'll try to make a foto of the box tomorrow:)

I tried to take some pictures of mine. But my camera sucks to much. :p

In the picture.. the yellow wire with the green arrows pointing to it. That is the wire that is unhooked on mine. Is it going into the same spot as that black wire, or is it going to the left of it??? If it goes into either one of those, can i simply just put it back or is it going to require some kinda soldering????:(

you need to press on the "lip" of that box, then you slide in the wire.

then release it and normaly the wire is connected and you can pull it without getting loose.

Alright, so which one does it go in?

ayrtonsenna

surely it goes into the same connector as the one in the picture???

Where does the other end of the yellow go.. IF I know this Ican figure out which one it goes into in the connector.

its the yellow wire coming from the front panel

I cant tell exactly which one its going into from the picture.. and im not going to just put it in one and hope.

Sorry to beat a dead horse but I just really wana be sure I have it in the right place. In that first pic you just posted. The yellow wire i circled in green.. its going in the far right hole with the black wire? If possible could u post a screenie showing the top angle. Thanks in advance.

MeltedDuron

no that's right, it goes into the same hole as the "black wire". that "black wire" is actually a heatshrinked over diode or resistor, going to the rear fan.

One more silly question. Is there a way to power on the unit without hooking it up through a motherboard?

runmc

You can pull the PSU connector that goes to the motherboard and put a jumper into the connector and that will do it.

MeltedDuron
03-22-2006, 06:22 PM
yeah, just put a peice of wire between the green and black wires on the ATX connector and you should be good. if you need a pic, you should end up with something like this:
http://www.overclockers.com/articles457/jumper.jpg
But instead of the heatshrink and metal things, you can just push bare wire into the connector.

Alright. I tried that. I have the psu cord going to the prommy.. and prommy power cord going to the wall. I have the lil 4 molex connector hooked up also. I did the wire trick. The psu fans turn on but nothing happens with the prommy.

on the picture on the last page where i circled the wire. Its going into the clip thats labled as 2. There are 2 holes on that one. Does it go in the left one or the right one where the black wire is???

MeltedDuron
03-22-2006, 10:04 PM
if I remember correctly, it goes into the far right hole.

Cow2kie
03-23-2006, 03:06 PM
That black diode you were talking about is in the far right hole. So both go in the same exact hole??

MeltedDuron
03-23-2006, 04:06 PM
yes, thats what i said. i think the yellow wire that came lose is the main 12v supply for the unit, the back fan needs 12v so go figure ;)

I was having trouble trying to get it in there with it. That weird "see-saw" thing doesnt really push so much on either end. Do I press the bottom to release the top or vise versa??? And if i cant get it back in, could i splice it to another wire or does it split?
