try to be flying at about 400km/h when you are are over one end of a runway. You will also need to be fairly close to the ground aswell (hard to explain how high, the best explaination is probably "high enough so that you could fly over another aircraft parked on the runway"). Once you are down to about 300km/h you should be able to decend and land on the runway without doing any damage to your jet :). It takes a while to master it.

Helicopters are easy, just hold down and find a piece of flat, clear ground. Try to stop in mid air and go vertically down, so you don't slide into anything when landing.

why would you want to land a plane?

I hate planes in BF2. F15s don't stall at 400Mph (someone said KPH, but it doesn't stall at 400 KPH in real life, either). F15s also don't have a max altitude of 5 feet. Finally, it's impossible to stall at 1400Mph no matter how high you go.

Apparently the EA programmers didn't pass Physics class in high school...

That said, even with the extreme annoyances of the physics, they can be very deadly once mastered. I just wish there was an A10.

If I was you, and wanted to fly airplanes and helicopters, I'd get a joystick. It's almost impossible otherwise...

Sorry couldbt resist but for just FYI, Stall is not based on Airspeed it is based on angle of attack. This is the difference between the chord line of hte wing and the relative wing. So an airplane can stall at an airspeed much higher then what most think, but it takes a fast change in pitch or an updraft to do this.

In reality though the wings would rip of the F-15 before it stalled at 1400 kts because of the quick change in pitch that it would require to stall the aircraft.

Back on topic, i would join a server that does not have enough ppl to start a game to learn how to fly the stuff. That way you dont piss everyone off in a real game.

Maybe stall isn't the best term for it, but if you're going straight up and still going forward, then you aren't falling, which is what I was talking about. I wasn't going straight up, anyway. And realistically, I don't think an F15 is capable of losing enough lift at 1400 knots to stall no matter what you do.

In reality though the wings would rip of the F-15 before it stalled at 1400 kts because of the quick change in pitch that it would require to stall the aircraft.

You don't have to be going straight down to be in a stall. A stall just requires a loss of lift from the wings. You could be going slowly forward at 0 degrees and falling. This is exactly what happens to me, except it's at 1400 knots until I get down to what the game deems an acceptable height (approximately 3 inches above sea level).

I agree. Pick a server with nobody in it, so all the aircraft are for you (single player will have bots whoring them).

Today...i bought Special Forces.
:)
maps are awesome.....it's a bloody mess.....

Then again, to play well.......
I use a Joystick to move Air and water vehicles. (directions/Power)
Keyboard for Land/Buggy's or land vehicles

We run a test (offline mode, with my girlfriend's brother.....scored more than 200 in easy mode, almost 100 in veteran mode...so train first :)

Of course, you don't need to be a FS user to pilot planes and heli's of BF2.

Move fast : go to flag and capture it (use a vehicle)
Be a medic..and save lifes....
Move as a team (won't work with bots...:(
Fire in single shot mode.....and take time to aim....
Move your weapon first and then change direction
don't stay on the same place too much time...cause artillery...:(
don't stay alone....enemies come as a team....so you will get the first, the second...but not the third.....
Reload when you are close to the end of your .....?
Capture the opposite site of your spawn point.....in special force mode
Disable radar and command post and artillery.....with plastic....in SF mode
take other players kit......especially to gain life or ammo....
When you have to reload your primary weapon.....use pistol or grenade.
Use grenade when meeting a team or vehicle.....

i don't play online..but will do :)

in BF2 SF, sniper is more accurate....it's better.

Well if you play Medic right yes. Points are easier to attain. Simpily revive people when they die and heal them. You get 1 point for a revive and 1 point for a heal (has to be half->full health thou).

Honestly, the best way to get points is to capture flags. You get 1 point for nuterlazing a flag, and 2 for capturing it. So a total of 3pts if you turn it from enemy control to yours.

Yeah I gained two ranks today in about 2 hours, got up to Corporal just playing as Spec Ops and capturing bases like a madman. Was at the top of the board almost every game. I wish the pace of the game was faster though. Im a CS player, and BF has always been slow to me. The physics are clunky compared to the HL engine too... especially on foot. The FPS aspect just feels sluggish and unresponsive. Still an amazing game though. Im gonna hit Srgt tonite

I ranked up a second time and unlocked the G36C last night... How do I use it now?

AFI,
When you spawn in, pick Special Ops (I think thats where the G36 is unlocked), you should see a little white gun looking icon to the right of the regular gun. It will have a picture of the G36 and a UP or Down arrow. Click that Icon and it will change the gun. Then spaw in and raise hell ;)
