Ok, decided before I do a reformat - which will be a real pain because I've 1TB of space to free up for it :( - I wanted to see if I can get my current install of XP SP2 optimised, so I can deal with any problems I get with a new install.

In the way of hardware I think I've got just about everything sorted out the way I want it. I've been building this PC on and off since the start of the year, all I need to do (all!) is make neater cables for the drives, once that's done the cover can go back on. Still need to braid a dozen or so assorted cables, but most are braided already.

Anyway, I have an install of windows and I know that at least some of the problems I have now I'll face when I redo everything.

I'm fine with my services, I'll be all over them when I get spare time.

But it's my boot log that concerns me.

That's a sample of it. I wanted to go to my boot log and make sure nothing was being loaded that I didn't want loaded.

It's chock full of line after line of did not load driver. Now if Windows is trying to load those drivers then it'll be getting slowed.

Anybody know how to deal with that?

I don't have any critical issues with Windows, just general performance, cleaning things up etc.
