Hi,

I have put my r404a classic up for sale on a certain internet auction site, not sure I can mention its name here or not, the wife is nagging me to build her a computer so something has to give so this is it.

Anyway, I have been contacted by a guy from the states asking me if I'd ship the unit abroad to which I have said yes, my question is if this guy wins it when sending it do I need to notify the parcel company/airline or whatever about what it is?

Is there any precautions I need to take when sending it abroad?

regards,

Matt

I would take it to Fedex or UPS and have them pack it. Costly but the buyer will probably pay for it as it places any possible damage on the carrier.

Have a witness run around with you while you show him/her that it works and how you put the working unit into the car and drive to the carrier.

I hope you talk with prospective buyer about shipping charge and find out how much does it cost to ship the unit properly. Those bubble foams, etc do help but not the best solution really when dealing with object that weigths that much for small size. Might be costly to pack up properly. My single stage unit that ships out from me despite the fact I have the proper box still cost about $30+ more for proper packing to my liking. We will see how my first unit that sold arrives on east coast. (original lian-li box with many insta-pak foams for V2000) Man these things cost whole lot for packing... :P
