Well, like most of us here, I'm officially addicted to phase changing now. I'm in the middle of a cpu cooler project and just got the case for it yesterday. After checking out all the sizes, I've got a lot of extra room. I decided "Hell, I may as well build a vga cooler too" which brings me to my question. Does anyone know of good, decently priced, 120mm fan condensors?

well we will have some in a few weeks for around 40.00 each,, we will have 50 for sale at first and if they go quick I will reoder more.. 185mm by 145 mm by 60 mm thick three row with schroud for 120 mm fan and a plenum also./

Cool. Well, if all goes well, I should be ordering one from you within the next couple of weeks. My current condensor (for the cpu cooler) can hold 4 120mm fans on one side. It was used in an old industrial fridge designed to run in a kitchen constantly above 30 degrees celsius (Pizza Hut).

Would you have a piccy of these units chilly?, are they the same ones used on your production line units?

Yes me too. Are these thicker or something than the old $20 ones?

No piccy as of yet as we are in process of confirming design from supplier. It has been long and hard search for past few months. We've designed it so that it can handle higher capacity without needing too noisey fan... thus the thickness and decent spacing for shroud so all area of condenser is utilized well while reducing noiselevel from fan. Hopefully it will come out as well constructed as we are hoping it is and looks like champ.
BTW, Chilly1, the width is bit thicker than what I wanted... call me up.

The only question I have...

Will it work for a mach2 upgrade?

I only just found out that the condensor I thought would work as an addon is about 5mm too wide to fit. :( It's 150mm square but that's the finned area. They neglected to mention it's 190mm to the barbs, and they're already as tight a radius as they can be.

185mm is too tall for a mach2 I think to fit with the wiring for the display.

What I'm trying to get away from is the need for a desuperheat coil, and super high fan speeds. 60mm thick would fit just fine, 145mm is ideal, but 185mm I think is just too tall or wide to work. I'm still doing 402a/evap upgrades and it sure would be nice to have a condensor upgrade available.

I've been looking for one for ages to work as a replacement for the little mach condensor, and it's starting to look like I'm going to have to go the same route, and end up with 50 condensors at a time if I want one. :mad:

185mm is wideness. I just called chilly and we need to change the design to send back with more reasonable width as it doesn't suit my need. Most likely it will come down to 165mm... I couldn't talk to him about this last few days as I was very sick and there must have been some miscommunication. Most places only deal with over 100 for custom order such as this unfortunately unless you want single unit for price of compressor (hot damn... in US that is what it turns out to be) Is 165mm good size for you Gray? Height shouldn't be an issue but width anything less than 165 start cutting into efficiency of condenser for some modifications we do using R402a or chilly's mixture from my quick calculation unfortunately. I hope this is my end of condenser search thanks to Chilly's connections as I've almost been scammed, denied of decent pricing, etc over last 3 months of searching. In fact 90% of companies I contacted had no interest in running 100 unit run -_-;

145mm high by 165mm wide is perfect. 60mm is about the limit for thickness due to the discharge port of the compressor conflicting with the fan.

Is that width including the barbs? Any wider than 175mm and it's getting awkward, and 185mm is the overall width of the chassis.

If it does, then it's the end of my searching as well. If it's a distinct improvement over the 40mm thick stock condensor, and it sounds like it is, then it's what I'll use for 402a upgrades for sure. Even on 507 is should make it possible to run fans at a more bearable volume, and I'm getting that as a request more now.

I just did a 402a for a guys that wanted to run his fans quieter, and about 1800rpm is about as slow as I could manage, and that was blending more R290 in than I wanted to. Still held at around -41 under load tho :D

Thanks to both Chilly1 and Jinu for the legwork on this one :toast: I sure hope it works out :D
