I´ve been thinking on buying this, what do you think?
I need help on the ?? marked items but feel free to comment on the rest of the stuff.
THERMALTAKE XASER V DAMIER (V5000D) (I like the 5 fans, I think they will be very useful in summer here)
AMD Athlon 64 4400+
Zalman CNPS 9500LED (Is it really necesary? or stock cooling is enough?)
A8N32-SLI Deluxe
OCZ PLATINUM 2X1024 OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K (2 or 4? Other?)
MSI NX7800GTX-VT2D512E (I can buy 2 but should I?)
2x250GB, SATA 2, 16M WESTERN DIGITAL
OCZ PowerStream 600W Rev2 ATX2.0
DVD±RW Dual Layer Plextor PX-740A W±16/DL+8x (other suggestions?)
LCD ViewSonic 19 VP930B 1000:1 8ms 170° DVI
Sound Blaster X-Fiâ„¢ XtremeMusic
UPS?
Sound system? (I think speakers is the corret word right? :hmmm: )
I intend to use the computer for gaming (strategy, space simulation and now FPSs at max settings :D) and 3d modeling.
I don´t think I will need overclocking at this point, this thing should be able to run almost anything right?
Here´s my current computer for comparison :D:
P3-600 at 800
320MB PC100 RAM
Soyo 6y-6vca
Sound Blaster
Apollo gf4 MX440
Sony CD-RW CRX225e

Stock cooling is enough if you are not overclocking, especially with that case. You should buy 2x7800GTX 512MB and 2 GB of RAM is enough unless you are video editing or doing that kind of stuff. Don't get plextor DVD RW. They are overrated and die pretty fast, too. For speakers, I suggest you should get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836119106 or this http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=companion3_computer_index

Wow, that's gonna be a tremendous upgrade over your current computer.
I'd go for water cooling and OC at least the CPU :)
And if ocing, go for DFI nF4

Water cooling kits or of any kind are hard to find here, so for now that´s not very likely :)
I´ll keep it in mind for the future :b:
I would get the 4600+ instead of the 4400+. If you are not overclocking that is a huge win, the higher clockspeeds beats the bigger cache by far.
These NEC 45xx burner have always been fine for me, I don't see a reason to spend more money than that.

Well, after some searching I found a water colling kit, it´s the "Thermaltake Aquarius III Liquid Cooling System"
Seems to have good reviews but what do you think?
Will it work with the A8N32 and A64 4400?
Edit: I just found out that Thermaltake has an official distributor here so I should be able to get almost any of their water coolink kits.
Martin, I may not be OC right now since it´s summer and temperatures can be quite high from time to time but I will most likely oc the CPU at some point :D.
Thermaltake has a spotty reputation.
Ever since air coolers like the Big Typhoon (by Thermaltake ironically) and the XP-120 and the Ninja are on the market any watercooling that is not done right would be a useless risk.

So which watercooling system|air cooling fan would you recommend other than thermaltake? :)

sorry im not in the mood for english so a little bit of spanish
sorry for the spanish :toast:

I just ordered my first watercooling setup and I chose the Swiftech A20-APEX kit. But the old version with the Storm block.
Haven't received it yet. I am curious to see what kind of improvement my overclocks will see compared to the Big Typhoon.

I´ll wait to see yor results then :)
Leviathan, none of the the stuff you mentioned can be found here or are extremely expensive at the moment ;)
And the cost/benefit favors the Western Digital, it´s at just U$D160, I can get 4 them of them if I really wanted too

If you're want an 4400+, you might as well just get a 3800+ or higher X2. The price should be about the same, but you'll get dual-core.

well i dont recomend you that ocz psu if you can find the 520 powerstream is better and go for that

You mean if I want dual core then I should get something higher than 4400+?
And between the 3800+ and the 4400+ I should go for the 3800+ single core?
Why? :hmmm:
Lev, ok I´ll keep that in mind, but is 520 enough for SLI and all the other stuff I´ll have?

yes it is more than enough and is better cuz it has 1 rail 12v

Ok, thanks :b:
And sorry for all my questions, as you can see I´ve been away from hardware related news for quite a while :D
Edit, Lev, what about 1 Western Digital Raptor 74 Gb for system, gaming and 1 Western Digital Caviar RE2 400GB 16MB for storage and downloads (emule, web, etc)? Would that be good?

I must disagree. The 600w is fine, but does have a rep for failing easily. How about a PCP&C 510w SLi?
The 520w OCZ is ok, but, w/ 2x 512MB GTX's and a Dual Core proc all on one +12v rail?
It's like 34a no?
My PSU allows me to switch between Dual Rail and Single rail, and my computer isn't even stable in Single Rail. Single Rail PSU's are history for high powered comps. :)
