What is the best core( or core's) for the 1700 right now? Also, how do I unlock a Duron 1.3 on a KT266 mobo(AK31)?

well as far as core the tbreds are far and away the better of the two (palimeno and tbred) i have a fealing you might mean what stepping and that i dont know but you could do a search on xp1700+ stepping in the amd fourm and get that awnswer. and im pretty sure that the durons un lock just like the palimeno xp chips witch is conecting the l1 bridges but you should waight for a second opinion first good luck:)
I already tried connecting the L1's< no boot.
My Tbird 1.0 unlockes so easily.

Did you fill the pits with crayon/super glue/nail polish/something so you dont ground out?

Ignore what I said in other post.
Check a guide on how to unlock Duron/ThunderBirds here (http://www.motherboards.org/articlesd/how-to-guides/41_1.html)
This is a MORGAN core. It unlocks differently then Tbirds and Spitfires...

Here you go, Ocinside (http://www.ocinside.de/index_e.html?/html/workshop/socketa/socketa_resistors.html.) it should show you what bridging you need to unlock your duron:D
