Thats what its looking like. Ive been playing with Xp64, single core opteron and 4 gigs of ram ( 1GB X 4 modules ). It looks like 100 Vms is possible. The major difference here is that the host os doesnt get bogged down. Its pretty snappy :) I could have 200 VMs running between 2 computers.. Looks like im going to max out my network ip's

I'm still waiting for a +200k day from you haltech. Hopefully you'll get it soon. Also, I won an 8gb hard drive on ebay for .01$ and $8.00 shipping. I was sooo happy.

200 is tough.. If i didnt use this workstation, it would be no prob, but since i bog it down, i only avg 170K a day. That will change next week of course :)

Would this all be on one NIC? or multiple? 100Mbps or 1000Mbps link to router? Does that even matter?

I gig nic, 1 gig switch with jumbo frame support and umm.. 1 gig router with 5 meg up/ 30 meg down connection.. I dont think there will be much of a bottle neck on that side.. just the hard drive area.
So im going to install 6 drives and break the VMs up onto 6 teams. This should cut the load on the IDE bus.. 4 = Sata and 2 IDE.

Good idea... that's a lot of data that's going to saturate one HD!

Well i cant install xp in the vmware,it keeps asking for driveA(floppy),althoug i pointed it to driveE(cd-rom) with the miniXP in it,and i try'd to point it to the miniXP when it sits in my documents, but it wont install at any way,i am out of options, any idea.
I have try'd this on a 2500+ barton @ 2.2ghz with 512mb ram and plenty hd space and notting else running, can it be that i have to little ram, maybe better 1gb ram.
