Let me start out by saying that I have never been so frustrated with a mother board in my life. I am using a xp2800+ on a NF7-S. This is the same CPU that I used on my KD7 and it would run 3D in the mid 2800's at 1.97 volts. Now for the part I can not figure out.

I volt modded pin 7 and put the NF7-s in my Prometeia. I can run Prime95 and Sandra burnin at 212X12 all day long with no problems. As soon as I go to a higher multiplier (12.5, 13, 13.5) the thing will not load windows it either freezes on the W2k splash screen or soon after. It makes no diff on what Vcore is set at (from 1.75 to 1.97). I thought it may be my PSU so I got a new TTGI 520 and adjusted the pot so that 5V = 5.08 and 12V = 12.04 still same problem.

I put the KD7 back in and 2800mhz is stable as a rock. Any ideas why I can not get even close to 2800 on this NF7-S

Edit: I already cut the L12 bridge and the CPU now shows as a XP2200

I would be more than happy to try one if I do not have to buy it.;) Know of anyone that is giving one away? Guess I will just stick with the Abit. I will figure it out sooner or later. Of course I may not have any hair left by then.:)

Well on my KD I could get good OC on my mhz's but could never get the FSB up much past 188ish and still be stable. NF7 great FSB 212 but sucky CPU mhz's. Seems here recently I can't find a winning combo for nothing

Same problem w/ KD7, cept I'm stuck at around 195 stable. I don't want to switch & have to lower my FSB :)

I see by your F/S post that you decided not to go back to the KD7. Are you staying with the NF7?
