What kind of tubing is best for water chilled cooling? I think my water temps will be around -40c and then slightly higher under load. Right now I use clearflex, but I believe that will just crack and leak?

What about a pump? Is there a brand/model that is an accepted choice? Submersible? Inline?

Thank you.

I am new to all of this, but I think that you have asked some good questions. I am going to use tygon tubing 1/2" ID and the pump that i have is the inline IWAKI MD-30RZT.

From all my reading as i prepare to make my first chiller, I think these are acceptable. If there is a problem with any of them, I'm hoping someone will let me know. Hope this helps.

Im sure its not rated for -20c. But Im using a $40 Home Depot pond pump, and its still working after ~40hrs of -20c temps. Although, I can gurantee that you wont get 320gph at anything below freezing.

The Beckett versa gold pumps were pointed out to me by a builder of chiller units, suppose to be great pumps for these chiller units. as far as GPH I'm going with denatured alcahol & glycol based coolant mix.

alky and glycol for my also. At 75/25, that seems to be the way to go. I think my chiller will get to -35c on the cpu no load.

If those pumps are good for chillers, thats good to know. Although in the end I'll be going to a external pump, and not a submersable.

I'm so new to this type of cooling that I really don't know or have I seen a good thread about pro's & con's of submersable compared to extrenals. My first thought is heat/ wattage issue with submersable pumps. I do like the submersable as far as being in the res out of the way of other componets.
This chiller unit is turning out to be much more then I planned. Chilly1 had some suggestions and some componets that he felt would "Work nicely with my size setup"

I don't know about the pump but Tygon is flexible until -43c I believe...
http://k-mac-plastics.com/plastic-rod/tygon-r-3603.htm
There's a typo in that article: Remains flexible at -45°F (43°C)
Since 100°F is like 38°C... :D
So you're safe until -43°C :)
