I know this has been asked to death probably, but I am getting BF2 and I want to know if it will run decent on my system at 1024x768 resolution. If it's too crazy I can go 800x600.
I have a AMD Athlon 2500+ (Overclocked to 3200+ 400MHZ FSB)
Abit NF7-S (2.0) motherboard
1GB of Mushkin PC4000 (It will be 2x1GB later)
ATI AIW 9800Pro
Watercooling and soon to be phase change so temps are no problem.
Within the next six months I will be upgrading to probably an Opteron 170 and a PCI-E card, but I want to know if this system will run it decently at 1024x768 resolution?
As always, Thank you!

Currently im running a P4 2.4 @ 2.4, 512 Geil Value Ram, a 9600 (non-pro), and I can run it at 1280 x 1024 w/ everything as low as it goes except for dynamic light and view distance and i still get around ~40 fps. (And I think the graphics still look pretty good)
So with a 9800 AIW pro I think that you could probably run 1024 x 768 (or higher) w/ about medium settings and get decent framerates.

My bro in law runs the game fine with...
Athlon XP 2100+ @ 2200+ (256Kb L2 Cache)
2GB PC3200 running @ 140Mhz 2-2-2-5
9800 Pro @ stock
Here's his settings...

I've ran FRAPS to see what he was yeilding frame wise and it was close to 40 on average with those settings. The only thing you won't be able to run is Texture on High. It is a setting that requires 2GB of RAM.

my brother has a reg x700 which is around the same performance as a 9800 as far as i have heard, hes also got gig of value ram, anyways he can play at 1024 x 768 with all on highest settings besides AA and AF or course, he can even play it at 1200x 1024 too but its not as smooth as 1024 x 768, so he uses that, so i would say you should be able to play it fine
