Hi there!

I need some help in crossfire overclocking.

In the past days i tried to understand how can we do overclock in crossfire based systems, so right now i have this doubts:

1 - Can i overclock the two cards separatly?
2 - Does the % of overclock is very different between the master and the slave card?
3 - Does the control panel has any option relationed with crossfire overclock? like automatic frequency changer or something...
4 - When i overclock the system using Atitool i'm overclocking both cards?

I really appreciate a clear answer because i've been searching all the web about this topic and i can't find anything that answer me to these questions.

Thanks in advance guys :)

You can overclock the two cards seperately using ATI TOOL.
From what I noticed on my X850 CF and slave X850 XT is too keep clks
same between both cards for best results.
Change device in ATI TOOL to access 2nd card clks, settings etc.

Bus 1 is master card and Bus 2 is slave card for device changing.

Sounds pretty straight forward.

Nice to know :toast:

What cards and board are you working on?

Dynasty, can you post some pics of the results in terms of mhz?
Wich card overclock's most? the slave or the master?

The objective of all this is an article to a newspaper, and the topic is crossfire overclocking, i've already wrote about all the specs of crossfire, but i couldn't understand the overclocking part. It would be easier if i had a crossfire system, so right now you are all i got to complete the article. I really appreciate All the information you can give about this topic because i think it's a interesting question that has not many answers.

Thanks in advance ;)

My Sapphire X850 XT PE OC's alot better using less vgpu
then my master card needs.

I am still testing drivers and tweaking things on air/watercooled at moment.
But here is simple test.
Edited:

Win XP/SP2 Cat's 5.8
ATI X850 CF - Mastercard - 650.7/599.40 clks
Sapphire X850 XT PE - Slavecard - 663/609.43 clks

Vgpu for both cards - 1.64
Vdd for both cards - 2.11

X850 CF and X850 XT PE both cards are vmodded
and board is DFI RDX-200 CF-DR.

My final goal is to put my FX 57 on this board under phase
and pray it lives.
Also, both cards to be put under phase (dual head/Chilly1 unit).

Trying to crack 15K with this set up.

Good stuff guys.

I have me a X850 mastercard here but it doesn't work with my X800XT :(
I'm bummed, I wanted to test some crossfire myself.

Guess I have to get hold of a X850 card.
