To make a story short here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=76487) is the start of it. Basically it is the same chip. I just removed IHS and put it under DICE :D

I was pissed of because I could not use my TCCD ram, dividers above 166 simply won't work. Had to use redlines.

Here are some results including new WR I guess.

39874 3Dmark2k1, so close to 40K, wanted to break it so much with a single card

And finally after some effort I managed to get validation @ 3716.07 MHz

Nice clocks kiwi. Next time, give it 1.7v and go for 3750. DICE looks like alot of fun. Nice job on breaking 10k in 05!

very nice chip
i'm jealous now :D
mine does only 3412MHz on screen and because of a poor contact between evap & cpu, can't bench it over 3175MHz (temp rises above +5°C in full :/)
congratulation, good job and results

Thats a pretty amazing chip

CPU does not really like high voltage. Actually higher voltage made things only worse - higher temps, lower overclock. I had no problems using clockgen up to 3.7Ghz (it crashed immediately if I run low priority prime at this speeed). Unfortunately I didn't try setting that speed in bios and booting then, maybe it would go more.

Great chip kiwi!!!

I was wondering, why are u using atitool for your 7800gtx?

s7e9h3n
11-24-2005, 02:16 PM
I guess I'm gonna have to toss my 3200 back in the autocascade - this was with the IHS still ON ;) Same stepping, lower batch.....

And yup, same probs with memory controller.....BTW, I've seen 3780 in windows, but can't get it validated

Yeah s7e9h3n, that stepping is awesome :toast:

New version supports Nvidia. But I had problems with video card throttling. I didn't update to non throttling bios before and this is why my score is lower.

Not anymore, btw ;) A DFI nF4 SLI-D (yes, not the SLI-DR Expert :D ) fried the chip.

You're serious?!?!?

Frick that sux, that is/was such an awsome chip...3.7GHz is HUGE, most I ever got out of my 3000+ was 2.97GHz on air before a power surge took it down. :(

Yeah it really sucks that chip is gone! I sold that chip to kiwi and it was the best out of the 5 that I had of that stepping (0521DPMW). There is still one of them left that is doing really well and s7e9h3n has it.

Surprise surprise that he's the one that ended up with it hey? :p:

Just kidding, seriously though, he's the right man for the job...and I suppose the good news that one of these chips is still kickin'...still sad to hear about your loss though kiwi.

Yeah that sux, even though I wasn't the one in whose arms it died (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1166690&postcount=7) but still. Who knows, the plan was to put it under LN2 and maybe reach 3.8ghz and 3.6-3.7 benchable.

Now I am exploring Dothan/7800gtx rig. Soon both will feel a chill of DICE

Kinda sux to hear that the chips life and future was cut short...looks like it had some REAL potential, but I guess the past is behind us and that's that.

Awsome to hear about the Dothan rig...keep us posted. :fact:

Wow... I want that processor. I hope a Venice 3000+ socket 754 can do as good as the 939 ver's can?! My god thats super cooled too. XDD 30C- and 5C+. lol 3.7Ghz. O_o I want power like that for cheap. I didn't even know a venice core could do over 320fsb. This baby is doing almost 380fsb. Awesome smoken OC.

Literaly, how in the heck did it die if you cooled it that good? Put too much volts into it or something? O_o wasn't heat cus it says 5C+. Never heard of a CPU that died from the freq was too high. Just restart the bios and they are always fine. Or the temps were reading wrong.

12-26-2005, 12:48 AM
I may just pop the my WR 3200+ in my newly tuned autocascade in the next week or so. I should see temps ~-55C CORE on this unit. Look for a screenie in the 3.8's if I do boot it ;) (with the IHS still on :p: )
