Grabbed a 670 and have been playin with Intel for a change. My goal is still to get 7gig running before throwing in the crossfire cards. Finally broke a 20sec 1M and #2 on HOF. I know it's not up to team japan's clocks but slowly climbing there. ;)

Actually 2.3v I believe is the max setting in the bios. Here's a SS while testing the ram also at 2.3v. ;)

y dont you use a 520 watt, maybe with the extra amperage youll have enough power to hit higher?

ya seriously i think it might even be dangerous to your hardware to run all that off the ocz420. i mean its a really good psu but for this im not so sure. atleast make a psu change before you try any crossfire or it will not work well that i can guarantee lol

That can help. Usually get's you 50-120 MHz +. :)

(But he still has HT on)

Hyperthreading is disabled in the bios. The run was just on XP non-optimized no max mem. I have only gone to 1.82 vcore and have only taken my mousepot down to -150c so far. There is still more to push hopefully ready for 3d by this coming weekend. ;)

The OCZ 420 is an underated psu...its max output is actually 520watts...which considering that this isn't a dual core should not be a problem...but certainly yea at least a 520 powerstream (max outpu 600+) would ensure stability at the haloed 7ghz clock when reached.

Yes i know the specs on the powerstream units, but i was refering to the amperage, even thouhg you might not see a votlage droop there can still be problems with amperage.

Do you have any ATI cards sitting around so we can see system power @ that mhz in '01? I wonder if Win 2K and Ricky tweak would do much for you in '01, or if you can even run DX 8.1 with that setup.

Well I will be giving another go tonight. As for the PSU the reason for the 420 is that's what I grabbed when my 520 died. My 600W SLI I got last week arrived doa. So I have a 520 and 600 in need of rma. As for the cards yeah I have x850xt master and slave which I plan to run afterwards. Here's some pics of another run well actually after the run I'll get some new pics tonight hopefully.

The vcore is accurate well close to what I read with the meter. :) More from last night I had 1M started at 6950 but crashed and didn't want to wait for the tube to warm again. Started by dropping the multi and running 1:1 using AIbooster I couldn't get any higher then 450. :( But it also gave me another spot on the HOF. ;)

Not yet either today or tomorrow. I should be able to get a 1M at 7gig. As for the crossfire I have ran it but only with the stock air cooler. Not too sure how the 420psu will hold up. Also next week I have a better cooling solution coming. ;) (3in mousepot which should help a bunch :D )

To me it looks more like a sapphire radeon 7000 pci... same as mine.. Good work there Harley!!
I also figured out that disabling Hyper threading would get me higher.. but it looks as my 670 has taken to much of a beating.... incredably warm, and can hardly do 5,3 ghz... so i guess I have to get my hands on a new one.... 7Ghz should defenatly be wihtin reach!!

Probably no validated shot.
I worked on it for 2-3hrs. on Friday and another 3 hours last night. I am pretty sure this chip maxes right around 6900. Anything more then that equals a crash. My ram has done much higher. The 6850 was done at 1.92 vcore. I have tried 6923 up to 2v and as soon as I start Pi it crashes. I hit 7gig on ASUS booster Friday but almost immediately it crashed. Guess it's time to chip hunt. :)

Becuase no one runs the CPU tests in 05 they are looking for the highest score they can get not how many tests they can run.

More then you can imagine. I had planned on getting 7gig easily the weekend after the mobo was modded wow was I wrong. Looks like this coming wwek for the new cooling which could very well be a plus. ;) Also hoping on having a totally differant chip (non 670) which I believe might have some very interesting results.

Thanks just thinking of anything that might be holding me bk. I could of sworn on the outside of the cpu box there was a sticker that said "capable of 7+ gig"
