Helow, few weeks ago i modded my friends asus 7800GTX and its a real clock ass :banana::banana::banana::banana: :slapass:
This score i got yesterday

THis is Done on a DFI RDX200/superflower550W psu.
i know this card is going to slap some ass with better cooling on the core,
wednesday the cpu is going under -25 chiller so 3G+ should be near.
The card was running at 1.78V, vdd isn't working right now because it came loose.

1.78 ? Is that safe ?
I had mine up to 1.65 so far and didnt know if i would dare higher cant find any info.
You get nice boost up to 1.55 and then it scales bad ?
I have 10660 so far with 2.7ghz single channel.
What speed is your GPU running ? And how is temp on GPU when running 05 ?
yeah shamino used 1.8V on his aircooled 7800GTX,
About the boost you right.
few days ago i gave 1.7V and the card did 610 mhz with delta, now with 1.78v 675mhz max.
gpu @ 675 and mem @ 1434 mhz.
can you give a compare of that run? and what cooling?
AND notice this is On an ATI mobo :p:
Ubermann
11-20-2005, 06:50 AM
Its on air with a prescott cooler on GPU and XP-120 on CPU.
Will give you the link as soon as i can reach the ORB but it seems down ?
It was 604/1737 (642 delta)
Nice of you to post, cant find many with single card and air cooling here =)
Gonna up that volt now and see what happens..
don't up the voltage please :p:
tnx for the info uberman, normalt the vdd is fixed this night or tomorrow.
then i'll bench again, the mem did 1600 with stock cooler before.
greetz,
Jort
ps: what drivers where you using?

1.78 ? Is that safe ?
Yeah, I use 1.74-1.77 with water.
On my Vapo LS mounted onto 7800gtx I used 1.86Vgpu.
These cards are very volt hungry.
@Jort what idle temps you see with the SP94/fan combo with your gtx ??
31° idle
and yesterday it went never above 48° stressed
above 1.8V lockup at GT2 when running 10 seconds of the test

Nice temps, gotta love them SP94's they come in handy.
Maybe put an Panaflo or Tornado 80mm for more air power.
yeah dunnow where to get them here. idd i was amazed by the temp of the gpu.
installing the SP94 on it ain't easy because the holes are about 1mm of the side:)

I tried some others but this ones seems to be fastest for me, plz tell me if there are any other better.
I still cant get into futuremark site !?

We also only tried 81.94, 77.72 is no go atm since we dont have the no cold bug bios and we don't have a floppydrive to flash it.
Edit:
Jort is fixing vddr atm.

I use cd-rw cd + ultraiso +flashcd.iso for all flashing.
Gave up floppy long time ago..it does not feel safe =)
tnx uberman for the info, i'll burn a cd today and flash tomorrow.
the vdd is pain in the ass, when i solder the wire of the vdd to an alternative point the card is refusing to boot:(
without the mod everything works flawless.

the "aircoolmod" on the 7800 is very impressive...not to heavy for the PCB?
Ubermann
11-20-2005, 02:42 PM
Gawd it looks horrible at that zoom =)
The trace goes to the small resistor just next to the bad point right ?
You use thick wires ? Whats that dirt around bad point area ?
I used cut IDE wires, im to scared to use any thicker then that cuz of the heat soldering it on.
Your right it aint look pritty with hyperzoom.
i need to clean it off with some alcohol but it doens't change performance after all.(rosin flux)
the wires are good, but the mod not:(
i'll wait for the reply on my mail to someone:)
edit; i tried to solder the wire to the little smd resistor, same deal ;)

Bravo Jort!...That's the way to push to mem clocks on the card. You should freeze that whole setup and try for single 7800gtx 256mb overall WR(shamino). 11,950 can take it..I think you have the card, the board, and chip to do it ;).
This is the intel/dothan single 7800gtx WR(I almost caught sham at the end there before I sold my cards). You can take it.:

Tnx master^^
Today nothing was running like it should.
GTX vdd came off, gtx vdd was 0V arties like rain.
then my friend Tim got home, and i tried to get the mod working again.
So its back oke, now the first thing i am going to do is get some hotglue and attach the mod so i can trow with it without killing it:D
This is how i am going to do:
- Install latest drivers
- Get some sleep
- Flash the bios
- Try to fix a Mach running for the cpu.
- Try to attach my chiller to the GTX
if nothing works only 1 thing left. :slapass: :slapass: :slapass: :slapass:
slap it till it flies :slap:
btw when the cpu was on the chiller we had 53fps GT1 :slobber:

Use Nibitor and turn off temp monitoring on your stock bios and flash it again.
My last run 702/1778 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1480056) so god damn close to 11K but i wont make any more run, 1.77GPU and 2.72MEM.
