New CPU time.

Alrighty....I fried my lovely 3700 sandy today, I'm so disgusted. I have the DFI Lanparty nf4 UT motherboard and the new 2GB mushkin redline memory kit. I love to overclock. My sandy ran at 11*255 for 2800mhz 24-7. my budget is 300-600 bucks. What CPU would yall go for? I'm thinking of the 3700 again....
or maybe a 4200 x2, but i dont think they OC as well.. What is the best OC'ing dual core? I've seen more and more opterons around in the forums, should i go that route? thanks in advance for your input.

Opteron 148 or 150 with that budget. The 148's can be had for under $300 nowadays.

nope, they seem to be good overclocking sandiego's

no. they seem to be doing better on the average max overclock than the sandies. thing is you want to get the right stepping. CABNE is the best if i'm not mistaken. another is the CAYNE.
