Building a gaming system and wondering which would be best ,148 or 165. I will be overclocking the cpu to the max under water.
I know the stepping of the 165 (CCBWE 0534SPMW) but havn't a clue on the 148, just the 'op'(?) - OSA148BNBOX.
Mobo will be either asus a8n-32 or dfi expert..again dont know which is best.
Help/opinions please.

I would get the 165 its dual core and more efficient. Some games such as Q4 already support dual core and more will do so in a while. Buying a dual core will make your system more efficient because you will also have the power to multitask.
The 165s also overclock nice check all of the dual core oc threads.
For the mb definitely go with the Expert over the a8n-32 thats a no brainer dude. Expert is the best overclocking mb on the market right now. The a8n will limit your overclock.

Wow thx for the quick reply m8!
Yeah I want to go dual core BUT reading the opty dual core thread that stepping i gave for the 165 are 'only' hitting 2.5/2.6. Where as the average 148 is hitting around 2.7-2.9 (fx57?)..even the magic 3gig. With that in mind would the 148 be better for gaming or would there be little difference?
Another noob question (sorry) : If the 165 does clock past 2.4 am I right in saying that this is faster than a 4800x2?
