Maybe someone can enlighten me -
With this system:
AMD64 Clawhammer 3200+ s754
Crucial PC3200 3-3-3-8 2x 512MB
Asus K8N-E Deluxe
overclocked from 2.0 to 2.4 GHz, 240 HTT, RAM at 5:6 3-3-3-8; SuperPi 32M takes 35min 34sec.
With this system:
AMD Opteron 144 s939
Crucial Ballistix PC4000 3-3-3-8 2x 1GB
Asrock Dual
overclocked from 1.8 to 2.25 GHz, 250 HTT, RAM at 1:1 3-3-3-8; SuperPi 32M takes 33min 0sec.
The second system is significantly quicker with a slower CPU although faster RAM. What factors account for the increase in performance with SuperPi? I'm rather puzzled by it, tbh.
Unless it's to do with background crud in the first and a clean install in the second?
