A friend is playing with oil filled pc's and i'm wondering whether it'd be ok to lend him a chiller to use or whether the oil would be too think for it to work?

It'd be safer and more effective to just chill water. Oil inside a chiller will be too thick, and besides; it wont provide very good heat exchange for your evaporator coil.

if you are trying for a non conductive fluid there are other solutions besides oil that dont get too thick at the temperatures the chiller will be running at. Flourent (<-- missspelled)and others, do a search, been done many times.
