Just saying thanks on 146 help

I was running a lowly A64 3000+ with a mild OC, X800XL and a gig of cheap value ram. The system ran good but well you know what it would run like. :rolleyes:

I was one of the orig members at Toms Hdw back in 1999 and a lot of the fellows moved away from Delphi and created a couple forums we now hang at. When I got started OCing back then we had the new and upcoming DuronDude who now goes by iirc his real name JCViggens. I'm sure anyone in the know knows him from 3dMark fame. He was a forum member at Toms back then so we all learned and did some wild chit. :stick:

The reason I'm here today is at the forum I usually go to a friend posted something about the 146s and since I kinda really lost interest in being a heavy OC I didn't care much but the other night I woke up at 2am and couldn't sleep so I went surfing. :surf: I went back to our forum and seen where this bud PopeGoldX had posted again about the 146s and how good they were. He or someone posted a link to here and I followed and started reading.

As I read I said WOW this thing (146 939 pin) looks to be one of the best OCers of all time. I seen someone here post a link to ZipZoomFly for the cpu. I looked at its price of $189 and thought this might be a good time to upgrade. I already was in the mood I had 2x1gig sticks of OCZ Plat ram coming and was looking at a 7800GT OC at my local Best Buy that was on sale after rebate for $329 (good deal). I waited about 10 mins looking at the 146 at ZZF and thought dude you have got to have this cpu and hit the buy button. :poke: Its on the way and should be here tomarrow. :bday2:

I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for a partical heads up on a great buy. I hope I can at least get a 2500+Mhz OC out the thing which sounds like a given. :shocked:

JC is a great guy as I'm sure you already know. :up: If you ever talk to him ask him about my Duron 700@1032 with a 24 hr stabality cert back in the day. I like to lay claim to having the World 1st Duron over 1G but really can't back it up anymore.

My 146 is only a CABGE and it goes right to 2500MHz (Storm G4/BIP III watercooled), I still have yet to really overclock the system (it's only a couple of days old.....I've spent lots of time enjoying games at levels of detail and FPS my older computer could only dream of :)).

I'm maybe the maddest gamer in the world too. I have every good game made I just got done playing FEAR at max settings and its smooth as silk even with a A3000+@2400Mhz. I have a new Westinghouse 37 inch LCD/HDTV that does 1920x1080 and is capable when they start broadcasting 1080p. :D

Opp iyrc Toms and Anands were only getting 950Mhz and said they might go higher. I took the chance and bought a 700 and got a pretty good OC out of it at the time. It maxed out at 1080 something but I didn't even try to run the stabality cert. There is a story behind the 1G breaking and me. JC should remember it all he was there. ;) In a short review I ran a Intel die in the wool/AMD hater guy off the forum for months with my certified 1032Mhz Duron. :D Those were fun times. ;)

Actually, I was in that forum before you arrived and nobody was driven off. I believe you did indeed break the 1Ghz barrier first, but still lost most of the benchmarks, so it was a hollow victory.

Can you actually post any benchmarks of that Opteron yet? You have been claiming 3Ghz stable on air for a week, but have so far refused to post any benchmarks or proof of any kind.

As one of the THG original members and the "Intel die in the wool/AMD hater guy" you bogusly claim to have "run off the forum for months", I'd like to comment on your bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: claims. First, you were not one of the original members and second, you refused to run many benchmarks because the coppermines would have won those tests. Third, I left for personal reasons which had nothing to do with something as meaningless and trivial as overclocking a Duron. My son's cancer seemed just a little more important to deal with than listening to you brag and crow endlessly about your 1G Duron in thread after tiring thread.

Here we are, years later, and you are now spamming 'The Jungle' with thread after thread and post after post about your new "stable as a rock" 146 @3G with the stock cooler while refusing to post any benches for it. Damn it, I also have to find a new virus scanner, as AVG will not install under x64. That, and Firefox is messed up. The area that you type dialogue into while you are posting is not a blank white field. It is the same color and texture as the rest of the page, so you cannot see where the borders are... LOL

I was so excited and that I took a pic of the Fedex man pulling up my drive. The pic has my Custom Corvette (The Mako Shark) in it because I was trying to dig these guys that are hunting me here now. Good pic none the less. ;)

I have had a world of family trouble going on in my life so I haven't had much time to try more than a run of 3DMarks 2001 which I ran at 2500Mhz and got a score of 26080. I have been out of benchmarking for so long I didn't know that that was a respectable score. Can't wait to see what it does at its maxed out speed whatever that may be.

All they see is you making grand claims of a 3Ghz Opteron "INTEL REAMER" and not one single benchmark to prove it. They see you doing anything and everything to avoid posting a benchmark.

Are you sure that you are in the right forum? This place thrives on benchmarks and scores, not running away from them.

With your zeal and ego, if you could beat me or Fred or anyone else, you would want everyone to know it. You would want to rub our noses in it for all to see.

It took me less than an hour to run PCM05, 3DM05 and AQMark. You've been claiming that you don't have time to run them for over a week now. Even though you've spent countless hours making posts at The Jungle and here claiming a 100% stable 146@3GHz overclock and demanding to be crowned overclocking King of The Jungle based on a clock speed screenshot and a claimed 3DM01 score that you won't post a link to, despite being asked to numerous times. I made this thread to thank some of these guys here for the heads up they gave me on a fanntastic cpu purchase and Nutty Dave1 Squirrls and FrUd Phol came to try to ruin a nice jesture. Now they are trying everything they can to backpeddle out of it. I really think its time to ban these 2 guys.That to me is uncalled for and I'd have banned them off a forum I'm admin on w/o a 2nd thought.

I'm better than a mod, I'm an ass hole. Being a mod is bad because you can't do whatever you want anymore, you need to represent the community as a whole.

More on maturity: There are other people here who really don't like me, and there are people I really don't like, but we are all mature enough to debate things. This is the first instance I've seen of someone thinking "They don't belive me? Ban them! Now! It's the only option!". These people havn't been anything close to mean to you either. For some really agresive debates look for posts between Major A and me, or Dave in Daytona and me. There are others too, but I can't remember the names because they wern't very recent.
