Hello friends, I'm thinking about buy a 7800GTX, some people said the the eVGA's are the best Overclockers, so what do you recommend to me?
What is the best OC with a 7800GTX with a NV Silencer 5 Rev 3??
I want to know your experiences on this and then will buy a really good 7800GTX for OC on air!! :D :D
Thanks in advance!!!

I'd say go for the xfx xtreme, I have that and it clocks to 650+ on water with 1.65V. I can do more but I am still testing not to mention im rebuilding my liquid cooled rig hehe.

To be honestly truthful, I really think the brand doesn't matter. Each 7800GTX is essentially the same in terms of component. Only serious difference is that they probably used differenct ram and core frequencies.

I got mine from newegg but seeing as they no longer offer it. Lol, but yes this xfx is a nice clocker. And the thing about them all clocking the same, I believe that the stock clocked ones may be better binned, I had this discussion with ViperJohn through email and thats what he told me. So thats why I would go stock oc'ed.

For the 256 version I agree with madgravity on the XFX and for the 512 versions no one knows yet.

the best clockers i've seen have been the XFX Extreme's and surprisingly, the MSI's have gotten some pretty damn good clocks too
so far the crappy OCers i've seen have been BFG's and eVGA's :slap:

Personally I have had a PNY 7800GTX with fan mod and stock cooler and was doing 495/1350. I have a BFG 7800GTX OC and I'm doing 500/1300 right now with a Zalman ZF700-CU and OCZ copper ramsinks, but the temps aren't really any better than the stock cooler with fan mod. I'm going to be watercooling with maze4 soon, but I don't think I'll see much more of an OC unless I volt modded, which I don't intend on doing.

I vote for XFX as well (490/1300 edition, of course) ;)

I got a POV 7800GTX, only had it for some days. Does 550/1400 with stock cooler but run hot as caramba (and finally crash with stock cooler at that speed)
Seems like GPU is 1.42 volt stock.

I have tracked 44 sample cards. From eVGA, BFG, XFX, Leadtek and ASUS. So far, from my results, the BFG has offered the most potential. The Leadtek I had did 550 (plus 40 delta = 590) on the core with no mods and the stock heatsink. The memory was a little disappointing at 1380 max. The BFG I currently have does 545 (plus 50 delta = 595) and 1440 on plain watercooling and no VMods. I have also seen some XFX Extreme cards barely keep to spec (490/1300) while others OC well. So, it is still luck of the draw.
