I'm sure everyone has read the story about the Nvidia aftermarket cooler fitting on the X1800XT by the chaps over in the UK, can anyone confirm that ANY 7800 waterblock (that covers ram and core) will fit nicely on an X1800(XT/XL)? I was eyeballing the dangerden NV-78, but just did'nt want to plop down the 125$ unless I knew for sure that it would fit on the ATI.

Story with pics is here. (http://www.vadim.co.uk/news/ATI+X1800+or+Nvidia+7800+-+the+battle+of+the+giants)

full cover water block for 7800 will not fit x1800. Only GPU blocks like Maze4 can fit both

Maze 4 will fit like a glove...same as G70 mounting :)

I bought Zalman ZM-GWB2 for my upcoming x1800 XT.

The blocks that cool ram and GPU aren't as good anyways. Get yourself a nice Maze 4 or Silverprop and some copper ramsinks.

Not true I use innovatek blocks - they cover ram and GPU and have helped me get the best Benchmarks in futuremark tests for 'normal' off the shelf phase cooling with watercooled GPU's.
