I found a pair of TECs on eBay that came assembled with huge heatsinks.

The smaller heatsink is about 4x4, the larger about 5x5. I have no idea what the size or wattage of the peltier, as its sealed in neoprene between the two heatsinks.

Anyhow, I broke out my old PSU, 250W, and fired this puppy up with a few thermal probes I had laying around.

Measuring the voltage on this power leg, I was pulling around 10.5V out of the PSU. I had the tec/hsf setup with the large heatsink ontop, and the cold one setting on my carpeted floor. I lay a 90mm Fan on the hot heatsink. After about 20-30 minutes, the temps were 0.0ºC and 35ºC. And it was pretty stable around this point. I was drawing a little under 4 amps from the PSU (which was really getting hot since the fan in it died a long time ago :))

So now my question is, can anyone take a venture as to the size, or wattage of such a TEC? What the heck am I going to do with these things lol.

I was thinking about seeing how cool I could get a Si-97A Heatsink on my AMD 1800+ with this thing. But I am not really sure what I am going to do with them, I have two and they are huge.

ok, I will take some when I get home. I am pretty positive I will have to take them apart to make much use of them, lol.

4 amps at 10 volts? nothing larger than an 80watt TEC, and that's probably pushin it.

Shoot I forgot the pics last night, sorry.

Question, since its such a small pelt, is there anything I can actually use them for, PC wise, or should I just make a beer cooler :(

Well, if it draws 4A on 10V, you could put it on your northbridge if you need better cooling there.
But a beer cooler also sounds good to me :toast:

northbridge, ram, vregs would be sweet, or a booze chiller.
