firefox problem

well i tried to open up firefox browser. I get a popup screen saying which user to log into. i click on default but says its already in use. i exit the window. click on firefox again and the window still comes up not letting me use the browser. so i can't click on default so i just make a new user. made a new user and got onto firefox but i lost all my favorites and history. any way to log back on to default?

Try killing firefox through task manager...sometimes it doesn't exit cleanly and the other profile gets left on. If you don't get your default profile back that way, run firefox using the run dialog (Start->Run) like so (make sure FF isn't open): firefox /p
That will let you choose a profile. If that doesn't work, you can get to your profiles through windows. They should be stored in \Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. From there, you can just backup your bookmarks and such. Other things to try: reboot or reinstall.
