After a dead 754 board, i ordered a 939 board with AGP.. Ill throw in a Venice that does 2600 on air, F@H and this client. I should receive a replacement 754 within 4 weeks  :banana::banana::banana:in DFI.

Good to hear. Is it dedicated?? If so, y not run like 2 clients with vmware?

Yea its dedicated. I think i would run more than one client.. Ill be setting up a Opteron 165 box sometime next week along with another 939. :toast:

Nice one haltech, try a VMware box and your output will increase quite a bit.

Put the 939 in service this evening.. 2 Gigs of ram and 80 gig hd.. Installed VMware 4.5. Setup my first VM and after screwing around for about 3 hrs, i got it all setup.. Now i get to find how many i can add on this rig.. I hope 8-10, if not more.
Does anyone know how to make an ISO of this install so i can breeze through setting up my other VM's? Thanks guys. We should catch Team AT in no time.
Next week i got one more 939 Venice going up and a X2. I should really be able to load up that X2. :toast:

Just go to the directory where you installed the VM, copy the contents and put them into a new folder, then just open within Vmware itself and you will be prompted to create a new instance. What I tend to do is leave the old one turned off at this point as they will both have the same IP and machine name. When doing my my Dimes install, I would install the OS, service pack, vmware tools, java and then Dimes but not setup Dimes.
Then copy the VM, boot each one up and rename computer name and setup Dimes individually, thi sis pretty quick and your only held up with HDD transfer speed. I found 2000 to be best for VMs as you can get away with assigning practically no VM memory thus running more clients ! Hope this helps you out.

When the Service is stopped, you can clone the VM, takes a few seconds, do this a whole bunch, (Linked Cloning is quicker).
after VM1 It took me about 10 mins to set up & boot VM's 2, 3, 4 & 5

Well, my brother get his internet taken away, so my output will be a little low for the time being.

Ok, i just put up 10 VMs this evening. so, i should see a substancial increase in points :) 8-10 pretty much maxes out 1 gig of ram BTW, thats with the clients set at 64mb each. I tried 32 but it was just way to slow. Im going to add another 30 by next week :)

Are these up and running? You've not had as bigger boost as I'd expect if they are.. Seems (only looking at 1 snapshot of the stats) that each is putting out ~ 150 (or less if that agents put out units before now) per hour... Even with 13 agents (there might be more though, you appear to be missing 1-6 on the dimes stats page) you're only just cracking the 1000 per hour mark...
As a comparo, theres 7 agents running over 2 machines here, and all (pretty much) are putting out ~ 240 units per hour (not sure on the main and primary VM on this machine tbh, havent paid too much attention)

Not all of them are up and running yet.. Im still tweaking everything on that box to get more online and give proper memory to the VMs.. They are turning some nice #'s now.

You're putting out some sweet numbers there Haltech, took a little time for the agents to kick off it seems :D The race for 2nd place on daily stats is on it seems ;)
Gonna have to get some more agents up and running now by the looks of it, did you say you had 64mb per VM? How's that running?
Haltech
11-15-2005, 04:51 AM
Its working ok pwe 64mb per client. Again, i think this is all dependent on CPU power and Ram.. No probs with the Venices and 1 gig of dual channel. Ive got another 10 today going up.

Cool, might add a couple of 64mb VM's then, gotta keep up with you some how ;)
Wouldnt have been quite so bad today, had 2 VM's not spazzed out :(

Sweet :D Man, you were right nLited windwos install is running sweet as on 72mb ram, not too slow either, need to mount the image on another PC and get all of those moved over to the same, should be able to get ~ 5 on the machine (Hell tehres 3 on this one with room to spare)
Bring it on :D XS, top in D2OL and heading for the same in DIMES, theres a fair few XS members in the top 20 for overall daily production now, which is great :D

Well, today was a :banana::banana::banana:ty day. I get up at 3:30 and out the door by 4:15am to leave for work. Roadrunner went down and its been down up until when i got home and resetted the router. These bastards keep changing my DNS on me. Sure, its not a big deal for people who run DHCP, but for some us who like Static, it just creates havoc. So, my awesome run just got bastardized today. Oh well, theres always tomorrow. I cant wait until the 21st as ill have my Verizon FIOS online and this BS i put up with from Time Warner will be over. I ordered more memory today, so ill be adding more clients :) So hows are daily stats looking now?
