Hey there!

I planned to buy a new mainboard, since my old DFI LP 250GB simply annoys me due to the coldboots and the ... non-existent support of DFI, aswell as my old AGP graphics card is about to die.

Anyways, I want to buy a new GPU and MB, but keep my old CPU (754 Clawhammer 3700+) and my RAM (2x512 UTT).

Would anyone of you probably be so kind and give me some directions about what to buy?
Im quite lost here.

I want to overclock, so the BIOS should probably give me a few options ... stabilty would be nice, too. And of course, it shouldnt be a pre-pre-pre-beta board like my 250gb was. :)

Maybe one of those?

ASUS K8N4-E Deluxe
Gigabyte GA-K8NE
MSI K8N Neo3-F
DFI NF4X Infinity

Also, what GPU could be a nice bang for the buck?

Thanks a lot!! :D
Greetings,

It shouldnt be a pre-pre-pre-beta board like my 250gb was. :)

Pre-pre Beta? That was the most stable out of the box, not to mention the best overclocking S754 board around.

@G H Z
Well, not for me.
Maybe mine was damaged, but ...
I had two completely different setups, both sucked. I have coldboots from the first day, I was tweaking around hours for hours, days for days ... mhm ... not to mention the not working 9x/11x multiplier which never has been fixed.

I hate to work with a PC that needs to be turned on and off again 3-5 times to even boot up.
I hate the fact that I cant use the 9x or 11x multiplier, at least not for overclocking.
And whats freaking me out is the fact that noone at DFI knows why.

About the "best overclocking S754 board" - from what I've heard, compared to other S754 boards its a very bad performer, even if overclocked?

Well, that's just my experience, I could of course be very wrong ... but trust me, I tried quite a lot of things :)

Still ... Id like to buy a new board cause my graphics card is about to die :) and I dont see a long lasting future for agp-boards whatsoever ...

@Jessfm
Thanks a lot, Im gonna take a look at them! :)
