I need to connect to the net through a router. Can anyone tell me how to make it work?

just run the network setup wizard or

install the adapter,
install TCP/IP and leave it to get a DHCP address
and you're done... easy

go under network settings, under DNS server or whatever type in the ip of your router

What ip of the router? The main IP I use to connect to its software? Like 192.168.2.1?

Btw the problem was in a faulty network adapter.
