How can I fit this image into my Avatar without ruining it, and without making it too small (in size, not file size)?

I noticed that alot of other people have High Quality pictures in their Avatars and I want to know how they got it to fit, as my Picture isnt a pixel whore... but it still wont fit.

Here it is: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a392/5days/AvatarSmall.png

And larger: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a392/5days/Avatar.png

.png or .gif are your best bets.....in PS, use save for web and play around with different settings to find the right balance.

That should do it....I'll make it a little larger as there's still about 15 horizontal pixels before it widens the bar on the left.

There's a few varieties of png's ;)

You chose an unnecessarily large one....PNG-8 would have worked, but that's essentially a gif anyway (slightly different algorithm--very good for solid objects or images with a large wash of a single color).

Anyway, np! All in a day's work :D

You really could go down to 4 bit color without much of a hit.

(It would require manual retooling though, I'm not implying that you could just convert it straight to 4 bit and it will be fine)

Okay. Now that I've made it, can anyone turn it into an Animated GIF for me?

I read that you need to 'Optimise' the image first and select a specific option, but I cant find this option anywhere. I've looked for ages but still cant find it.

If you could post SS of how to 'Optimise' an animation, or do it for me (I'll email you the psd file with the animated slides in it)?

Thanks. :toast:
