Thanks.

I dont know about the dual xeons, but ballistix has been doing pretty well. Some of the new mushkin stuff looks good also.

If you run your DX at high fsb then the ballistix would be a good choice.
If you run it at a lower fsb and tighter timings then get a 2-3-2-5 kit.

Tight timings don't seem to do much for DX rigs. Besides, the chipset doesn't like FSB much higher than 225 anyway.

actually I am noticing better production with the tight timings. From what I have been seeing of the last few days its about 10-15 cands difference, with everything else being the same.
Ballistix I am finding is junk (or at least in my experience). I have had two sets now that after running a while at their rated speeds of DDR400 2-2-2 at 2.65-2.7v needs to have the voltages raised and the timings loosened. Even then they will need to be RMA'd a while after that. They have not been reliable in the long run.
Do you need the 2x1g? or can you make do with 2x512? if you can then at newegg you can get some OCZ BH-5 for about 140 for a 1gig kit. This is what I am using in my DX rigs and has been working great at 2-2-2-5 DDR400. (THX again DD)

After the weekend of memory from hell (Ballistix = crap/dead $$$ therapy), 4x Gskill TCCD failure after 9x300 2.5-4-3-7 @ 2.76 Vdimm ... :brick:
Gskill (the GBLA that I left all the labels on) = back to newegg for RMA
New Ballistix from NewEgg primed Large FFTs (x2 - 900mb/core) @ 10x265/2.6V / 11hrs. Now that that is saved off, going to see what they can really do. :D

Thanks. Anyone tried the Gigaram stuff?
