could u use a res made of pvc pipe with the ends capped off if so how cold could it get before crackng

pvc is not a good idea as a reservoir but anyways you can use it and if you don't shock it , it shouldn't crack but if I were you I would use something better.

Some have done this though! Look through the archives, there a # of people who have done it. I haven't heard yet is any have cracked or failed in any way.
