This Mushkin ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146397

I can get it for $253.85 shipped.. Is it worth it?

or should I go for this cheaper G.Skill set (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231032) or just go straight for the Ballistix Z503 =p

Thanks.

Will be overclocking a Opteron 165 & DFI nF4 Ultra-D

I want to know how that Mushkin is, so please buy it :)

I arrived at a negative opinion about Ballistix.

The G.Skill is of course what you want for price/performance. Above 250 MHz the actual application performance gain is even more useless.

No way.

The only 1 GB sticks that reach that if you are lucky are the ballistix and those I find questionable.

Link to the Mushkin PC4000? Maybe I'll buy it and let you know :)

i don't think your going to find any 2gb kits that run stable 24/7 at 300+
some ballisitx will, but play the lotto, you'll have better luck
'the mushkin PC4000 is good stuff. I have a thread on it somewhere here I think.

think I got mine to 285 stable
not saying all will do it, depends on your mem controller. But using dividers will not hurt performance if you can scale your proc mhz and keep ram high ;)
