Just wanted to find out if any one here have installed pcs in any of there vehicles. She has a 2002 Honda CRV, which isn’t an SUV so maybe I should call it a big car with 4 wheel drive. Any way it’ll most likely be my old 1.5 GHz Thunderbird with some gps and DVD goodies. A 7inch screen for the front and I may do headrests later I’m not too sure. I’ll most likely finish the install with a small amplifier and sub. Not too sure where it’ll be mounted yet, but I have sometime to decide. I’ll be starting the project over winter vacation so we’ll see how it goes. I’ll post pics at the end.

i used a front end called frodo player but microsoft have a special version of windows for in car use.
i recomend www.mp3car.com a very good in car pc site.

make sure that case is fully capable of substantial shock absorption. I'm assuming you;ll be putting this into a small/specialized case, but you may even want to think about fabbing up a support bracket for the HS. I can only assume you'd be running integrated video from an mATX board or something, but if you do actually have a discrete video card, brace the hell out of it.

I've been fallowing mp3car for years now. They were the only source for this kind of stuff 4 years ago. Now I’m sure there’s things all over the place about this. I’m not sure where I am mounting yet. I think it’s going to be the back "cargo" area due to how much space is back there.

Also it will be well mounted but its not going to be able to take several G's all the time lol. I’m more concerned about the hard drive, or distance in some cables I will have to run more than I am concerned about how well everything is braced.
