Ok, I have an old abandoned node number that I want to use again. I just loaded D2OL on my lappy and I want my lappy results to go to this specific node number...How do I do this? When I install D2OL on my lappy, it wants to create a new node# right? I know how to get this node# assigned to a team, so I don't need help with that...just how I can assign this specific node# to my brand new install.
This will allow me to separately track my lappies contribution. Thx

If you still have your old "node.prp" you can do it.
Do you still have this file from the node you want to reuse?

If you new node-number hasn't any uploaded cands, you can still delete it. In this way you are also able to copy the node.prp file, and paste it onto the new one.
You then add the new node (the one automatically created) to your list, then you delete it. New cands will be uploaded to the other node.

I can rebuild the node.prp file :)
Just flush some cands on my node and I can rebuild your node.prp, if you give me your node nr. and email used by registration

Q: My computer crashed and I had to reinstall the Operating System. After I reinstalled D2OL I find that I have a new Node ID number. How do I get my old Node ID back?
A: Bad news here. Unless you have previously backed up your node.prp file then the Node ID is forever lost. Please read the above “What is a node?” question for more information on how to back-up your node.prp files.
So are you saying you can do something that the project admin can't do?

yup, no problem, i ll use it much for myself, so i won't get many inactive nodes
When not believe me, just make a new account and flush 1 candidate on it. i will flush another 1 on it when you only tell me the email adress and node nr.

That's the ONLY 2 things you need to steal nodes from peoples accounts!!!! Give me your node number and the e-mail you used to register and I'll show you ;)
No one ever give up your node numbers and e-mail used to register. It's just not safe.
emphasis... if you have a tool to rebuild lost node.prp files that is awesome! Maybe you can post the app you are using. It would be helpful to the community as a whole. But we can't send node numbers and the e-mail used to register... It's like posting your Social security number...

ah, never known you can steal it by node nr. and email and i still think it can't, because why else do they use login passwords?
and if you wantthe app, how many cands do you give for it?

You can't take a persons account... but you can get there nodes out of there accounts.
How many cands will I give you for the app? FIgured you would want to share to help us out :D we're just the little guy ;)

I just have spend much time on the app and after such nice reactions, instead telling me clearly what i could do with the needed info and XS as concurrent of the DPC i think there's nothing wrong about asking a litle donation (some candidates)

Yes I do... you're either greedy or talking BS about recreating dead nodes !
If anyone had a way to rebuild nodes, they should be making it public.
Do you see Rod asking for money/cands if anyone uses his installers to create D²Ol as a service? Nope, he doesn't...
Do you see Hellheim asking for something when people use his Watchdog? Nope, he doesn't...
We all crunch for a cause (looking for cures against deseases), the competition is a nice and fun side-effect, but it must remain a side-effect and not the ultimate cause.
Seems cands are more important to you... not a good attitude, my friend.
I feel like insulting you bigtime but will not do it out of respect for mine and even your own team-members... please quit D²OL and find something else to leech on :slapass:

eeeuh, do you also remember that the d2ol installer is only for XS and that watchdog only works on the XS-installer
Just my 2 cents

That's not true at all. I made the installers FOR THE TEAM... but they will work for ANYONE that wants to use them. I know for a fact there are several teams that use them.
Same thing with watchdog... Helheim made it for XS... but it works for ANYONE. You have to be using one of my service installers for the "Service monitoring" function to work. This is only because the services are always named the same in my installers... so he can make provisions for those installers. That's the ONLY function of the program that isn't universal. You can dl watchdog and dl one of my service installers and run them both... or you can get your d2ol app from the official source D2OL.com and Watchdog will run with that.
In short... we made them public and ANYONE can use them... even you. ;)
As for your app to rebuild node.prp files... that's sweet that you could develop that. And if you don't feel comfortable sharing it... well that's your right! Excellent work on the development  (I mean geez... the D2OL.com staff can't even rebuild node.prp files!) XS doesn’t hold the same views as DPC… we will not withhold ANY information, tips, tricks, programs, or help. We are here first for helping the project then comes the stats. If we can help the community in anyway… we will. So we make our stuff public ;) We established this credo from day 1 of XS_D2OL… We are working to be the BEST team! Not only in stats but also in class!
Let us know if you need anything ;)

I mean geez... the D2OL.com staff can't even rebuild node.prp files!
Or they don't want to support it ;)

I totally follow you on that! The D2OL staff doesn't want to support it and be responsible for rebuilding node files.
The verbiage in my installers has never been changed. DL one and look at the time stamp. You may have misread something in one of the dialog boxes. I'll post what it says.
The license agreement that pops up after launching the install:
This installer was created for the XtremeSystems. org D²OL Team, by Rodzilla
-
-
This installer will not be modified in anyway without the written consent of its creator.
I can see how this could be taken to mean other teams can't use it... but that's not was meant. If I could I would re-compile all of the installers and change that line to "This installer was created by Rodzilla of the XtremeSystems. org D²OL Team" But it's an unbelievable pain in the arse to change just that when physically the package works fine. And there is no wording that explicitly states other teams cannot use it.
Next the intro text...
This will install the 2 D²OL Agents and automatically create them as services.
The D²OL Daddy application will also be installed and created as a service.
Obviously nothing there.
Now the text from the BAT file...
@echo off
echo XtremeSystems.org Individual Personal Node D2OL
echo Agent Installer\Service integrator.
echo ---------------------------------------------------
echo Batch file created by Rodzilla of XtremeSystems.org
echo ---------------------------------------------------
echo.
echo.
echo This will install 2 D2OL Agents and D2OL Daddy.
echo All will be automatically create as services.
echo.
echo You will be prompted to register the nodes when
echo the installer is done.
echo.
echo The agents will start as normal foreground apps until you reboot
echo or close the Agents and start the "XS_D2OL1" and "XS_D2OL2" services
echo !!!!!!!!LET THE NODES REGISTER AND INITIALIZE FIRST!!!!!!!!!
echo.
pause
Nothing there.
These files have been made public from day one.
