View Full Version : need xtreme help with my BH-5
Hi there, I got a very strange problem most likely with my memory, 1x512 TwinMos Winbond BH-5, 1x512 TwinMos Speed Premium BH-5 .I know the CPU can do at least 250fsb (old 2.4c m0) so im trying to burn in my bh-5. I got one big issue, I need to adjust the vtt manually over 2.8v (IS7-E vtt modded) so I thought I should se how far it goes with 2.8vdimm (2.76) So I fired up memtest86 and ran a few passes of test5.
Result:
Test5 (http://www.bjornlinder.com/memtest5.jpg)
But the thing is when I try to play games or run superpi or something it errors almost immediately , about 5secs of SuperPI and 5mins of q4. Yesterday I ran 50passes of test8 also, unfortunately I dont have any pics of that, but only a few errors, 4 if I remember correctly.
And today I looped all test for about 6hours.
Result:
loop (http://www.bjornlinder.com/21loops.jpg)
Need some advice, here are the bios settings

MY BH-5 would fail at stock speeds with stock voltage. So that’s something to consider. Even though mine was pre owned that may be why, but I heard they love voltage so if you can put even a tiny bit more that most likely wouldn’t be bad for them. I run 3.2 almost all the time now with my DFI, I don’t know if you can do that with your board. You said it was modded so I’m not sure what you can take it to.

My bad I didnt explain everything, I see that now.
It's modded as you mentioned, and I got a DDR booster, the thing is I adjust the VTT very exact, the VTT voltage is the same as I set it to, but the vdimm jumps "alot" and as you guys know the VTT should be half of the vdimm all time (if im not mistaken that is  ) So I dont seem to find any "stable" speeds if I raise the vdimm more then 2.8 (2.76) and btw, it runs "100%" stable at stock voltage 200fsb 1:1 2-2-2-5
What about the BIOS settings, anything I can change? Im going to upgrade my system soon, probably a DFI with NF3 (just bought myself an ATI x850xt) and a venice or something.. :D
Well I made "some" progress, it seems like 220 1:1 2-2-2-6 Turbo Enhanced 6clocks disable disable with 3v is a "sweet" spot for my mem. I get "lots" of errors in memtest, I guees its because the vdimm drops like crazy, from 3.0 to 2.80 :( with those settings I can run SuperPI 32m over and over and pass every time. Prime95 Errors after about an hour but quake was running smooth for over 1h then I exited.

Well, I'm on an AMD platform but run 2x512 Twinmos Pc3200 original BH5. Here's the settings I use:

BTW: Memstest stable isn't always necessarily windows stable ;)

woosch thats awsome, well I think the biggest problem (besides my "knowledge") is the booster and VTT mod, as I mentioned in the previous post, the booster drops from 3.0 down to 2.8, I guess thats what causes instability. I am really close to buy AMD and probably a DFI NF3 :toast:
Did a little reading in the forums and found some good info for myself
