Wow, it looks like everyone ramped up production, so it looks like I have to respond. Tomorrow I'll try to get a vm workin on my brothers computer. If I install 1, would the computer still be usable?

I have not set up my VM's yet but I have two pc's which will have them installed and then the fun begins.

go everybody, go!

I wont install a VM on my machine because it needs all the ram it has, still running 24/7 Dimes!

It seems as our daily score has been rising the last 7 days, now if we could only pass TA and Crunchers inc. ... :stick:

If I could get a VM worked out, I'd have two running on my P4 Laptop, but any VM that I set up doesn't have a working network connection. :(

Dragon, does the VM detect the NIC ? Can you assign it a manual IP address ? Can you ping either your gateway or host machine ?

To bad my production is only good at the weekend/vacation or I would progress a bit faster.

Im not even making the top 10 today, way to go team Im really impressed, Ive got a few systems running as well. Lets take down those other teams. Over the last 3 days we have gone from 216k to 247k to 270k , lets keep this up as we are at 4th overall for daily production, but we need to break 360 to get 3rd, come on team we can do it.

I added another part time VM but my production is actually slipping as my machines are doing less and less points each day. Anyone else notice this?

I haven;t been adding anything, and my output has been going up.

ok, I've got the VMs working. I'm going to see how many my 2.8 P4 can handle.

I'm down until further notice. Mercifully you all are stepping up production to take up my slack. Sorry guys.

I'm running 3 VMs on my laptop, which from my last update, look like it helped out alot. Not so sure if InsanCen is going to be able to pass me now. Har Har.

I dunno, I go away for 1 day, and look how you're all behaving...

LOL!

I saw your stats take a sharp upturn DragonOrta...

I will pass you, it'll just take a little longer...

I don't know about that. I've got some people that I can get Diming for me. We'll see.

Nice, but my stats are all me..., I own all the machines, and they are all in my 1 bedroom flat...

And I will have to add more to take over your spot... ;)

My production is crippled. I had to take down my primary box and reinstall Winblows. My number two rig at home is having issues and my gaming rig is under some construction.. playing around with the watercooling so I am not running programs on it now. Hopefully I can square some of the mess away this weekend and get back into full swing. I am only running Dimes at home, no friends or family to step up production.

demonR6

Interesting.. my production is shot to :banana::banana::banana:e and nothing has changed really in that box. I did reformat and reinstall Dimes but it is on the 10mbit all by its lonesome, settings in the program are the same as I had before except I have it collapsed so it won't clutter the screen. I don't think that would cause such terrible performance would it??

And that is 9th place comfortably in my mucky little hands...

world domination will soon be mine!!! mwahahahaha....

Yeah, I'm done too. I gave it one last shot this morning when I got up and all three have the same error still so I am done with it.

Unless MrSlinky pulls something really Big n Clever out of the bag, 8th is mine today... (Laughs maniaclly, while stroking the cat, which is unfortunately totally the wrong shade of white, being black)...

EDIT:.

2:30 GMT, and 8th is MINE!!!!!!!! ;) :D
Next stop, 500K... might hit that today (Well, I should, but As I'm wiring a new Mains wire in (Means I can run 2 more boxen on D2OL & DIMES), production, and my Vital signs, might stop Altogether  :)

InSanCen
11-28-2005, 07:33 AM
7th is mine... Heater918, sorry mate ;)

and the new DIMES box (Boxes? ;) ) are yet to run a measurement (Hardware bugs... possibly dodgy memory or mobo)

The team as a whole is regularly second overall in daily production... if anyone can step it up a notch (or more), please do so, I will be, to hell with the Electric Bill! First place sounds sooooooo much better.

yes InSanCen your good but if i am not mistaken someone passed you in a flash then again that person has got some true firepower under his belt. if only he would d2ol then dpc would be in trouble

InSanCen
11-28-2005, 09:31 AM
Yep, Haltech is passing pretty much everyone... and there's no way I can bring that sort of firepower... I wish i could!

I'm thinking that there must be nearly 50VM's going on there...

Still, If I can pass someone, and they ramp up production to respond, and repeat for a few people, then it can only be good for Team XS DIMES :D

A little ribbing here n there aint hurting anybody...

[XC] DragonOrta
11-28-2005, 09:44 AM
Yeah, InSanCen got my production up when I saw that he might pass me. It looks like he'll still pass me and beat me to 1 million anyhow, but if I would have been able to leave my machines on over thanksgiving break, I might have beaten him to 1 million.

InSanCen
11-28-2005, 10:24 AM
Yeah DragonOrta, I'll prolly beat you to 1Million, but it was you that prompted me to up production to make it happen by Xmas (Might scrape it), before you did.

If we can do this to a few others, we could get top daily producer. Addmittedly, Haltech gave everyone a good kick up the behind, but I think that races between close matched/ranked teammates does more.

At the end of the day, the goal is to get XS as #1, and if this helps, then I'm happy.

Theres no way i can do d2OL on these dedicated rigs with VMware.. There just isnt enough ram available. Ive got an RMA on the Opteron that im waiting to get returned, but i dont know how good it would do for the D20l team as a whole just adding one rig up.. I didnt have any luck with the D20l install either when i tried it last week.

I wish I could get half of those numbers. The whole VM thing is not working out for me so I am running it on my two machines. The 24/7 does not have the memory for it and the crappy celeron processor won't cut it. Not to mention I cannot seem to overcome my problems getting VM ware and my network set up correctly so.. Haltech, when are you coming to Central Florida for vacation? I will get you to come over and set up my rig and life will be grand.. we would have #1 in no time. :)

EDIT: But I am upgrading this processor to a 3700+ so I can always buy a budget mobo and throw in some value ram, thus beefing up the 24/7 box.. but still that does not help me figure out how the hell to get the network to run. Haltech, when are you coming down again? :)

Haltech

The network is very easy.. You need to hit me up on AIM and ill help you out.

ditch the DHCP bs on your router and convert your network to static.. You then use a bridged network for VM and each VM client running, gets its own IP, sub, gateway and dns value.

[XC] moddolicous
11-28-2005, 03:32 PM
Insanecen, you really ramped up production. I was used to having #4 daily for a while, now I'll be lucky if I'm in the top 5. I installed an extra 2 vmwares, but that wont be enough to hold you off.

Will do. I am shopping for a budget mobo for this processor so I can upgrade the 24/7 box to better handle all this.

Yeah, but that's my "Day off" Production, (Usually off Sun & Mon), where 2 nodes are on that are usually only on for 4 or so hours.

Will have 1 possibly 2 boxes churning out numbers by the weekend, will be more like my "Real" daily output
