nice eh? Guess you naysayers saying oh no the 9700pro isnt much faster than the 9600xt are all wrong! In fact, some benchmarks and in other games show it being more than twice as fast! The 9600xt just makes no sense when you can get a far better 9700pro for the same price! I am getting near the performance my friend is with his oced x800pro and 4GHz celeron. He does have a far faster gpu(more than twice) but his cpu really holds him back so overall our games run about the same with the edge to him with aa/af and high details. I am done upgrading anything for a while like a year or more. Ill need to get a high paying job first and I got other priorities such as my own mobile home, my own bike for transportation and work on my coin collection :) my rig should last me more than a year anyway, its no slouch!

youd be supprised how many people think both are equal or the 9700pro is only a few percent faster. Heck people on ebay pay the same price for either. I sold my 9600xt and upgraded to a 9700pro for free :fact:

4 pipes vs 8 pipes on the same architecture...pretty obvious.

its the 256bit memory bus that boosts 9700pro also ...

I think a 9500np 128mb 256bit[L memory] is better than 9600xt .

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

i read your Ebay ad, seems you claimed the same thing when YOU were SELLING your 9600, and much the same with the 9500 to 9700 soft mod. :slapass:

just who is kidding who here?

glad you got the card, at least it is an improvement.

i am assuming the hurricane put you out of service for awhile, did your Dad's house suffer roof damage like many in the Palm Beach area???

umm that looks like a 2/3 difference or 40% but hey whatever.

Thats looks like you have got a good upgrade to last until next year(well January of next year). I'm not seeing you get to much more than maybe 6 months out of this upgrade before you decide you need something faster.

What naysayers? I'd venture that people here pretty much know EXACTLY what the difference is. If not from having the exact card, others like it. Or we've read several benchies back then and couple that with the experience we do have... very firm grasp on this. If you are buying all these cards to prove it to us, don't worry man save the dough!

It's a shame you never adressed your old thread. You yourself have had 9700 pro-like performance a year ago. If you want to buy old cards, beat 'em up! :p: Not all of them, but what was the point of the 9600se otherwise, what were you expecting? TEC off ebay, vmods or something might be more fun. You're just trying your luck. You just start another thread, never adressing our questions like this staring at the wall bench you run. Someone pointed us over to OC'ers in the last thread as well where it appears there you didn't leave out that shadows and such were off. Well you tried, but they noticed. I never really looked at the pics that much because it's kind of like "here we go again...."

Wish you the best Geforce. I don't want to nag anymore, you'll just start another thread! I'm ranting now. Sorry.... but the "naysayers" must be somewhere else if you catch my drift. Your friend with an x800pro you are beating sure as heck isn't on these boards!

this is a stupid thread...the 9700 is BY far better than the 9600xt

its like comparing a 6800nu to a 9800 pro
