I think we need a thread of nothing but errors with tec's!!
Did you fry one? What did it look like after words?
I learn more by looking at pics and hereing where people messed up!!

THERE IS ONE MAIN RULE WITH THIS THREAD!!! NO MAKING FUN OF ANYONE THAT MESSED UP AND KILLED THERE PC'S!!!

Sounds like a good idea, anyone got any disasters? I've had none thanks to relays and temp probes.

I fried a connector - They can get a bit toasty with the current they draw:

I have also had worse happen, but I was too stressed to take photos at the time.

wow, you're lucky you caught that before it got worse. did you have to pull the plug or did it shut down on its own?

Nah, I smelt that well known burning smell  , then quickly pulled the plug! I think it was during a benchmark...

That wasn't the worst one, I also had a pump go down - so the water stopped flowing around the loop. Of course I had no idea it wasn't working until the pipes exploded by the TEC water block

They just split apart and blew water everywhere! I should have taken some photos really, but that wasn't my primary concern at the time...

My lead broke off right on the edge of the TEC...It took about an hour to solder it back. I ended up getting a new one to be safe. Now my load temps are right at 0c.

EDIT: My camera is broken or I would post a pic...no one wants to see a phone pic I assume.
