Jon Peddie Research (JPR), a research and consulting firm for graphics and multimedia, reports that ATI’s lead over Nvidia in the desktop segment narrowed as compared to the prior quarter. In Q305, ATI’s desktop graphics shipments grew 7.6% sequentially while Nvidia’s desktop shipments grew 28.3%.

I don't think for long....Q4 is gonna be even worse for them.....maybe not in XL sales..but definitely for the X1800XT...if the GTX 512meg rumours are anywhere true...I don't think ATI can count on alot of sales on the very high end...and withthe 7800GS coming out...and the midrange products.
nVidia also holds a very large share of mobo's...something ATI can only dream about... :eh:

Isnt there more ATI chipset mobos out there then Nvidias ?
Correct me if im wrong i might be mixing stuff up.

ATI DOES actually hold a large share in the mobo OEM market. Nvidia is still king of the hill in the retail market but that may chance in a year or two.

Yes indeed...epecially since ATI got a little deal with Intel :D
Btw...check the Inq graphics page...7800GTX 512....550/1800...*ouch.
