Sig Stuff - Thanks to PS2pcGAMER and InSanCen

InSanCen did the artwork and PS2pcGAMER set it up w/ stats in a couple of hours (after I finally got around to sending him a PM :D )
Helped alot to make up for all the memory I lost yesterday, err, um, what was I talking about :confused: :D

We sometimes take for granted these nifty things on the bottom of our msgs and I wanted to given public kudos for this wonderful service from PS2pcGAMER (and of course tout our great artisan components).

And of course to Perkam for getting up something quickly in the beginning to call our own.

Send him pm with image that should work. He hosts all sig's for D2OL & Dimes, great work i might add.

Glad we got stats added to sig., i think i was pushing sig. limit :) wouldn't want to get pulled over by sig. police :eek: (like Mikee :) )

I'd also like express thanks to PS2pcGAMER....he's been great with hosting and being really flexible with custom team sigs :up:

We're working on a new sig that I think you'll all enjoy (much simpler) and I also have a version of that avatar in the works....although I'm not sure how it's gonna turn out--I'm not much at drawing or free-handing anything, I just manipulate (although the entire sign in my avatar was hand drawn...).

I started last night and finished today. the cat was the only outside element to it, so im happy with my work. i could put a cow on it eventually, but a cow sitting in a chair just isnt' something you see everyday. :p:

I finally got around to making the changes I promised a few of you over PM. This only really applies to the subteams who wanted multiple images.

For 99% of you, the changes will be invisible (how it should be).

I do have a small request. If anyone could shrink the file size down for the following two images, that would be great. Unfortunately everytime I try to do it, the image either turns out bad or the file size isn't small enough for my liking. I am not worried about my personal bandwidth or hard drive space, but I am trying to keep the images under 20KB to minimize load times for everyone.

Can the reduced size images be something other than .gif? I can't get the Mafia one down below the 40kb range and maintaining IQ without switching to .jpg. I can drop down to 60 colors and use a dither to get ~47kb filesize and still maintain the decent quality of the gradient (unfortunately necessary for stats legibility). With a PNG8 (essentially a gif with better indexing) I can get it down to 42kb with the same IQ. A jpg with the relative IQ can drop into the mid 20s. I'll post all of them and you can take your pic.....give me a few minutes and I'll edit this post.

In all honesty, I hate JPG compression artifacts and would prefer the color loss from the GIFs, but I do realize it's twice the size.

Also, combined with the stats, I believe the size of the GIF may go down even more with fewer colors being visible on the gradient.

Unfortunately it has to be a gif. I made the change though and 42KB is a big improvement. If that is as good as it can be, that is fine.

That sig image is hude... can't it be shrank down so it isn't as large... that would also drop the file size down.

And this fits within the limits set forth by XS and is intentionally that big. :D

Didn't mean anything negative by it... Just didn't understand why it was bigger than it needed to be to hold the stats.

Thing is... I tried changing the text all to white (the red and yellow aint going to well with the background) via the link in the the help thread sticky... once I submitted it it didnt come up with our pic but of the default black and green background :confused:

Yeah, I need to hard code it so it isn't possible for people to accidently adjust it. I need to do it for both the CoD and XS_VIP sigs, but the others are already tamper proof. Anyway, it is fixed now.
